No, I've gotten over that Grand Final. Hawthorn didn't choke, but were beaten in a game of pressure footy. But what proved vital in that last term, the reason why we couldn't put them away, let alone hold onto the lead, was the extra days break between the prelim/GF that the bastards had EVEN THOUGH they didn't deserve it. In fact, we did. Minor premiers in no way should be handed that sort of disadvantage. The Swans are given an armchair ride by the AFL, and it's downright pathetic.

I agree, but they were still the better team on the day.

That's the truth, but the better truth is Hand's avatar is superior to yours.

It's good that you're over it though, it'd suck to still have that going through your head over and over...worrying that it might happen again this year... ;)

You can't really say they were the better team.. It was a game of pressure footy, which Hawthorn aren't specialists in, whilst Sydney are.

I don't think you can gauge a team's performance on a final quarter where the opposition plays basketball, and ends up fluking 3 vital goals in the final term: two that sailed through with the ridiculous assistance of the wind, and one which got a lucky bounce out of congestion.

It won't happen this year, because the AFL won't make the same scheduling mistake, clashing with the NRL and therefore severely hindering the chances of the best team over the year.
 
But in saying that, it's Geelong's flag to lose... despite their 'choke' last night, their best is still better than ours. Sydney's is probably as well.

They were better at pressuring and suffocating the Hawks in that final quarter. And had luck on their sides.
