Serves you right
Sorry guys, this convo was going on in the middle of the night here. Had to get some sleep. And again no offence to SF and I am not tooting my own horn but the following is a good example of why individual designs shouldn't be included.
Why would that swans blood spatter design get elected and my version of a swans blood spatter from ages ago not?
Also perhaps if people want designs elected to a HoF, maybe the ones that win round robin competitions could be used, as they have shown that they can out last other designs over a long period of time, or, ones that have survived long periods of time across multiple competitions. But single weekly competition winners should not be included.

This is why I thought designs rather than designers. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings by suggestion SF's blood splatter; I didn't realize you had one also from earlier. And this is also why I think designs, rather than designers. Not to make it an ego thing, but rather a way to have all of the best designs, so it's altogether possible that both of those could make it, or the better of the two, or whatever. But (I still haven't seen yours, craegus, just making an example here), let's say that SF's blood jumper was voted in, but yours was not. I've seen your portfolio on here, and you have no reason to be upset if SF's made it in but yours did not, simply because you're going to have a number of designs voted in, even if it wasn't that particular one.
This way, everyone has a chance to get at least one design in, and be recognized for their talents. Not everyone is as gifted of a designer, nor have a lot of people put as much time/effort into this as you have, craegus. But occasionally, even people with lesser skill, or maybe limited time to create comp designs here, come up with a stellar design that is worthy of recognition.
So, why not this, then:
Perhaps both could be utilized. There could be a HOF for designers, and a gallery of the all-time best FGD designs, in a separate thread. There's no reason we couldn't do both.
In that case, for example, if both of the blood jumpers were deemed worthy, there's no reason they couldn't both be included, and fewer hurt feelings result. Then, the designers who are worthy of the recognition due to consistent designing standards or special contributions (like Mero) and even ones that are no longer (or are seldom) active, could be inducted also.
Giving the best designs a gallery would allow people to see the best, without having to go back through thread after thread, going through design after design, and things like this (not knowing craegus had a blood jumper) wouldn't be a problem, since all of the stellar designs would be in a place together, for easy access.

No worries. I didn't think that was the case. I think Hall of Fame was probably the wrong phrase for what I had in mind. Personally, I don't think it would be a problem to have similar concepts. I mean, if they're good designs, they're good designs, right? So if yours and SF's were deemed exceptional, why shouldn't they both be included?Don't worry I'm not upset, I was just using that as an example. The problem I have with single designs is what makes one design better than another? Especially when there is a chance that two or more people may have designed something similar.
Shared it on FB last night, loved it!For those who prefer the Hearld Sun or the Telly, this is for you.

not sure yet, I'm going to finish my aviation homework then get some pics up.What are the jumper selections like?
Are you studying to become a pilot or is it a subject at school?
Just found this

Thanks mate. I'm very fortunate that my school has this program and its really what I want to do, but I've still got to hit the books for another few years if its going to happen.Good luck man. I have a massive interest in aviation and wanted to get into it, but I was pretty slack in school...
Yeah they do look better. One offs would make this a lot cooler. Ie west coast 25th anniversary vs Brisbane 3 peatJumpers look better than the last AFL game, I don't like how there's no one-offs, that's one of the things I like about the NBA 2K series.
Thought it was pretty cool that they included the big hawks logo on the front of their jumpers.
NM Design, you must go to a pretty bloody good school to have the opportunity to fly a plane for a subject!
