Imagine supporting Carlton. Like spending that much on a great white hope who was clearly never going to do anything. An outside squib coming to save nothing but a team of outside squibs? At least St Kilda cop it and Freo have a newspaper and most of the state to remind them they need to win something, the Blues carry on without half as much media pressure and thus never have a massive clean-out and culture change and just keep plodding along, happy with seventh spot every two or three years.
