Yeah, not that uncommonly known a fact.

A less known fact would be that the saltiest lake/pond on Earth is also on Antarctica. It's so salty (because of hyper-aridity and the katabatic winds) that it doesn't freeze.

Yeah it's a pretty common fact. Because it's seen as an odd fact it gets beaten into the ground. From most commonly stated to least commonly stated, I'd say it goes: Coldest continent, Driest continent, Windiest continent, Highest continent.

After driving 60kms each way to work and back for 6 months, I am more than happy to take a 16 minute train ride into work every day with the great unwashed.

Train rides can be interesting. I've sat next to a guy watching pr0n, I've had a guy in my carriage on the phone telling his girlfriend how many ways he was going to **** her that night, yesterday a guy opposite me was watching a person being beheaded, but those are the extremes.

I catch a train before 6am weekdays and these are full of sleeping tradies.

I don't mind the train it's 20minutes to read a book or catch up on what's happening

The train we were on to see Sydney v Essendon at Homebush a few years ago had an open window with dried streaks of urine down the outside where someone had obviously tried to piss out the window. I guess it was considerate from one perspective but they had failed miserably as the dried pool on the seat and floor below, not to mention the stench, attested to.

There's a guy who takes my train often in the arvo who does a Rubik's cube every day. It's nuts - he's so quick with it. Fortunately, that's the extent of the oddness on my train - most people on my line are pretty good (Craigieburn)
