Used to love GOT. First few seasons (season one especially) were so tightly written and intricate. By the time season four and five rolled around, I’d lost interest - it was all too broad and the scope had gotten way too far away from what I liked about it initially.

Watching the fallout and divided opinion over this last season has made me appreciate even more how ****ing good the MCU was for sticking the landing with Endgame.

I kind of lost interest in GOT around the High Sparrow stuff, stuck with it though.

I thought the ending was good but it could have used 10 episodes instead of 6 to flesh it out.
Definitely. It was too rushed and had too many minor plot-holes and slipping of standards (Starbucks anyone?).

But the ending resonated with me.

What's the deal with the WCE company status compared with other AFL clubs? was looking through annual reports of different clubs, and most were nice club-branded affairs and explicitly stated that they were a not-for-profit, yet the WC one was a boring af Indian Pacific Ltd financial report

Are we truly a faceless corporate plastic franchise?

I know Indian Pacific Ltd were the company formed to own the club originally, but I was under the impression the club had been sold back to the WAFC?

Edit: just had a quick read and it looks like Indian Pacific Ltd are now a subsidiary of the WAFC. The company trades under the name West Coast Eagles.

Interesting.

Indian Pacific Ltd is the formerly listed public company that owned and operated the West Coast Eagles.

Indian Pacific was delisted in 1990 and all of its shares are now owned by the WAFC. The WAFC now holds the licences for West Coast & Freo and sub-licences them to Indian Pacific Ltd & Fremantle Football Club Ltd. Both then operate the football clubs through those unlisted public companies under the ultimate control of their sole shareholder.

When those Freo tossers start going on about "corporate" West Coast and them being a club, the only differences are (a) they have "Club" in the name of their unlisted public company and we don't and (b) they allow 1 (?) board member to be elected by the public - which is largely meaningless as they have a single shareholder who has ultimate control and the unelected members control the board.

A bit like Walking Dead, really. Except in that show the zombies aren't a threat anymore unless literally the population of Perth shows up in one location, and every season seems to be how the gang is at odds with some group led by a egotistical megalomaniac.

Yawn. Just trap a couple of unarmed guys in a shopping centre full of the undead and show me how they get out.

The last two seasons were rushed and they chose to prioritise battles and action scenes over character development. We watched the show for the characters and the political maneuvering, and they threw it all out the window because they thought we were watching to see massive battle scenes. They made previously smart people act like morons, they had virtually no buildup or focus on Cersei's side in the last season except for the odd cameo from Euron doing something completely unrealistic so there was hardly any emotional involvement in the final showdown.
That being said I thought the last episode was pretty good, especially the first half, it felt like an episode from one of the earlier seasons.

What kind of vet would put down a healthy dog like that?
A lot of vets. I've read stories of vets putting healthy pups down cause the pups don't meet breed standard (i.e Ridgeback puppies born without the Ridge). However, that and the story above happened overseas. Not sure these things happen here.

So the campaigner kind of vet then.
Then again when one of our dogs was a couple of months old the vet told us to take her back where we got her because she had a slightly short lower jaw. My wife was really happy at that. He was probably the kind of vet to put down a healthy dog.

LOL what a **** knuckle.

I've also heard stories of vets putting down animals cause the owners can't afford surgery and the best option if to put them to sleep. Look I know that they're not a charity but surely you could work something out. Actually saw a post on FB where a vet reached out to a rescue group to adopt and help pay for the cost. Thats the sort of thing that should happen in these instances.
