Went to my first soccer game recently for the Asian cup.

While I love my grand old MCG, AAMI Park really blew me away. So close to the action, I dare say 'not a bad seat in the house'.

Unfortunately the Socceroos lost their final group match and I ended up watching S Korea vs Uzbeks, but I imagine the stadium would be pretty awesome with a partisan crowd.

I love Aami Park. My seats for the rugby are literally three rows back and I get to hear the impact every time the big brutes get tackled.

My son started pre-primary this year and being his first friday of the year he has to wear his sports shirt or faction shirt which jusrt happens to be green.

As I was leaving for work today I asked him if he was ok and he said he not happy that he has to wear a green shirt and he wishes he could wear a navy blue shirt.

Nearly bought a tear to my eye.

Bless his little heart!
This reminds me of my old boss's little girl. He's a one eyed Tigers supporter and was raising his kids to follow in his footsteps. On Footy Day at school his daughter threw a tantrum and refused to go until she had some Carlton gear on, because that's who her two best friends go for.

Love it!

Who's Archie?

Thompson. The A Leagues number 1 all time scorer. He'll be the bloke who gets called offside around 10 times tomorrow night if the sideline referee does his job properly.

Is offside the same in soccer as it is in rugby?

I'm gonna struggle tomorrow night :(

Not all over the rules of rugby but I presume it would be similar.
You'll love it for the atmosphere even if you don't get the game. You've picked the right game for your first. Some real hatred between these 2 teams on and off the pitch.

I tried to watch the Socceroos game the other day but I thought I might enjoy it more if it was live...fingers crossed :)

No not good at all. Won't be close enough to Archie to really let rip.:D

Sorry lad, if he plays, the Messiah (Jesus) will score the winner for the City Bhoys !

Josh Kennedy has always been one of my all time favourite Socceroos, still pinching myself he is now ours :D

I'm not expecting big minutes from him yet. Let him come on in the 2nd half and create some aerial havoc.:thumbsu:

Booo hiss!

Don't you get rivalries? :p
Heart/City/whatever they're called aren't really a rivalry anyone. You can't have a rivalry with a team that's like a derpy little puppy dog.

Must suck for you poor people who follow Heart/City/whatever you're called this week.

This season was always going to be transitional in terms of playing stocks. Next year I'm expecting bigger things.

One thing I loved about Heart/City that brought me on board is that the club was put together by football people and has always felt like a club. Yes City group have made the purchase but the feel around the place still seems authentic.

I tried the Victory in the early years but never got it. Something about it's soulless beginnings as an FFA franchise and choosing a moniker more in line with the ANZ championship, just didn't feel football to me.:D

Is anyone watching gogglebox? I haven't watched tv for a couple of days so thought I would some to relax. It is not very good. Just a recap of all the crap tv that has been on over the past week. At least I got to watch Barry Hall lie in a box for ten minutes with rats climbing all over him.
