Random green links in posts?

It is just some advertising running for the month of January.

After that we'll assess whether to keep running it.

Pop-ups and banners are fine to a point, but linking text in people's messages seems a bit invasive, detracts from posts and is annoying. I get some of us don't pay and ads contribute to revenue, but these are horrid. Should be able to post without your message being altered by advertisers and readers should be able to move the mouse around or copy text without interruption. Depending on the post, keywords could trigger 3 or 4 of these links.

Not a fan.

cheap and tacky, get rid of it asap imo. It's also very annoying to have a giant banner with a movie pop up every time your mouse accidentally runs over it.

****ing shit. It is the same as the shit you get when viruses or malware is attached to the computer. FFS did a whole malware check and virus check to investigate and see whether it fixed it.

I guess the question is or should be why bigfooty doesn't tell us through this forum that these ads are running and for how long.

Dislike. Happy to have all sorts of advertising on the site, but people's content should be sacrosanct. It's the foundation of the forum.

I know this place has a monopoly on the broader football online market, but I personally think it's poor form to advertise within people's posts. People will actually move on if that happens, and when a few good posters go I'm sure others will stop being motivated to post so much too.

Ads down the side are fine, but I don't think you should touch content.

Banners are fine but this is ridiculous. I don't want my content being the link to advertising . Plus it's frustrating as **** to have Australian Open ads open if you hover over it accidently.

Do not like at all. Thought I had caught some adware and only when I looked at the source code did I realise it was Intellitext added by the site.

If this becomes permanent, then I'm done with the site. I will not tolerate having content that I post having advertisements edited into it. I get that this is a commercial enterprise and has to make money, but this crosses the line. Claiming that it is 'just' some advertising is disingenuous and offensive.

I'd like to know something - if i purchase Big Footy Gold, will it prevent the green links being put into my posts? Or will it just prevent me from seeing them in the posts of others? Because I am not going to pay you for the privilege of providing you with content to monetise by inserting ads into.

This is the last post I will make on this site until I see that this new 'feature' is gone.

Get rid of it. I thought it was Malware too and searched hard and wide to get rid of it to find nothing and it did my head in for an hour.

Exactly dumb form of advertising and even more annoying noone knew it was on before they asked.
