I love musicals personally. Just the thrill of doing a big, live show beats doing a film where you do one scene then never see it again. I could do Ballet but I did 3 semesters of dance shows in 3 semesters of uni and I am so done working on dance haha

At least you are getting a broad range of exposure. Not a musical fan myself, I am partial to the ballet.

Tough work. I've seen the shitload of work that goes into a 3-4 hour Primary school concert with limited props, lighting and flyers. I'd hate to think whats involved in a full blown production.

Yeah. Last semester I did a scripted theatre piece in lighting, audio design for 2 dance pieces and this semester audio designing 2 devised theatre pieces where the work is created by actors. It's... interesting hahaha

Tough work. I've seen the shitload of work that goes into a 3-4 hour Primary school concert with limited props, lighting and flyers. I'd hate to think whats involved in a full blown production.

We do 65+ hour weeks when the shows are bumping in and getting teched. Some shows have had 200+ lights and big sound rigs. It's a wonderful, wonderful industry

Nah because we tech the dance , theatre and musical school's productions, it's part of our course. We run them as close to real world as we can so when we go into the industry we aren't surprised.

The worst thing is that one of the roles we have to do involved manages crew and wages. So we get told what we could have earned

For those that love the job, pay doesn't even factor into it. Get more out of seeing a difference in a student than I do out of a paycheque. It is a tougher job than most give credit for, much beyond a 9-3.30 job. Even tougher as a male.

I hope so. Some serious campaigners around though. A few egos but that's in everything. The worst are the ones who obviously know more than me from more experience but don't like explaining when they do something. Plus my attitude would be better if I could be assed doing the written element

Taught my first three years in a P-2 class before getting offered a leading teacher role in my 4th year. Taught a Yr3 then a Yr4 while running Primary Literacy which was extremely tough, especially without support of leadership and the staff around the place. Been through some pretty tough times which saw me out of the game for a couple of years and have got back into it this year as a Casual teacher.

Built myself a high rep amongst schools and have more or less been working full time this year. Got a call from my agency today with an opportunity for employment for the remainder of the year. Only issue is it's in a Catholic School and I'm not religious. Guaranteed work for the rest of the year would be great, but it means I won't get days at a couple of schools I have been working at that I thoroughly enjoy.

Been through some pretty tough times which saw me out of the game for a couple of years and have got back into it this year as a Casual teacher.

Built myself a high rep amongst schools and have more or less been working full time this year. Got a call from my agency today with an opportunity for employment for the remainder of the year. Only issue is it's in a Catholic School and I'm not religious. Guaranteed work for the rest of the year would be great, but it means I won't get days at a couple of schools I have been working at that I thoroughly enjoy.

Catholic school would be tough if you aren't Catholic. Couldn't imagine doing it

Most people can't see past the 12 weeks holiday, they just lose their mind.
Have some friends that are primary school teachers and they work massive hours, unnoticed, unrewarded. They deserve a medal.

The worst are the ones who obviously know more than me from more experience but don't like explaining when they do something.

One does. Hilariously, from a private school, comes across entitled to everything and if you watch carefully, says and does all the things to make sure everything is how she wants it and thinks things should be done.

I've been getting levy notices for the past few months which I ignored because I assumed my property manager would pay them from the rent monies account as previously discussed and EXPLICITLY WRITTEN PRIOR TO SIGNING THE CONTRACT. Eventually they kept adding up so I gave them an email this morning asking why the levy notices were increasing. I just got an email from them apologising that they hadn't updated Strata with their address so the bills were coming to my home address, and was I happy for them to begin organising payment, including late AND processing fees.

Why the **** should I pay for these extra fees when I told them at the start that they were to take levies? This was pre-organised. Really ****ing ordinary.
