Just thought i'd put my two cents in for a few possible trades, that most likely won't end up happening, but could be beneficial.

I would hate to see Thompson go, he seemed like a decent guy when i met him in June and he's got great potential to be a star footballer. Having said that a potential trade would be:

Thompson plus pick 13 for Adelaides pick 8 and pick 24.

This would then allow us to attempt:

Jolly plus pick 29 for St Kilda's pick 17 or Sydney's pick 15.

Echo what i said about Steven Armstrong (though i didn't meet him) but we could trade him for WCE's Ashley Hansen.

Also somethink like pick 45 plus Chris Lamb for Mark McGough. (What's the bet pies fans wouldn't like that :D )

After all that we lose

Thompson, Armstrong, Lamb, Jolly and picks 13, 29, and 45

and gain pick 8, 15/17 and 24 with Mark McGough and Ashley Hansen.

It would be a risky strategy attempting to improve draft selections rather than players because of supposed lack of quality in this years draft, so i'm not too sure about that. But I don't think we need to attract high profile players (e.g Mal Michael) as we're having a hard enough time trying to sign our own players let alone pay out for others.

Feel free to bag me or agree with me, i can take it...

Since when do we need to trade Armstrong ? And Jolly ? if they are unhappy or after to much $ i would say trade them. as for the draft... every year throughs surprises. If we were to trade Jolly id be after Ottens or simmons in a straight swap or give them a sweetner or one pick for one pick also.

i know money is an issue but we need a good full back to stop good FF's good one always seen to kick 5 or more goals againt us, we have a good backline just not the great fb back that we need, mal michael would be worth the money.

what about darren jolly to brisbane for tim notting or daniel bradshaw?

No chance of getting either for Jolly.

They won't go for Jolly anyway, they have ample ruckmen.

So Thompson is gone and Pick 12 has arrived.

Jolly, Ward and Walsh still are available after they requested to leave, with Jolly gaining strong interest from several clubs.

Armstrong is still a possible trade bait, especially to the Western Australian clubs.

Bruce, Rivers, Broadbridge, Smith and Bell have all re-signed.

Johnstone, Bizzell, Davey and Robertson are still out of contract. Johnstone is attracting interest from other clubs while Bizzell is a chance to leave. Robertson and Davey are expected to sign on soon.

No sign of any delistings yet, but I think at least 3 have to be made under AFL rules. You'd suspect Nathan Carroll, Guy Rigoni, Luke Molan, Luke Williams, Cameron Hunter, Chris Lamb and Joel Campbell are the ones most likely to be delisted.
