rewatched afew games and as long as raphs not mismatched on a small speedy player he has played ok and attcked the ball harder in the last year or so. yes he has had clangers, but so do all players under pressure.
i like others get worried when he has the ball, but as long as he wears a saints jumper, we shouldn't bag him. if his not good enough its the match committee fault for picking him when we have great players in the two's.
he gives all his got, whether good or bad. he shows balls as he would know people bag him, and he still puts in.
he seems to be losing the ball less this year aswell.

He was quite impressive for his standards against the dogs which was fantastic to see. most of his efforts for the contested ball were awsome. Me and a mate were watching in amazement saying "when did this guy arrive".
Lets hope he backs it up this week and the next and the next. I'd love to see a few weeks of good hard contested footy from Raph. Teams cant get enough tall, strong, quick, defenders these days.
You can't compare him to Lenny or Gilbert or any of our elite players. But I would compare him to Gwilt, who was a fringe player in defence, and has improved his game 10 fold in the last couple years, every game he's played this year has been impressive.
Im sure RL and all the supporters would love to see Raph improve in a similar way and cement his spot in the best 22. He took his first step last week.
