has been proven correct in the past..

IM PUMPED BRA!

cheers... after some quicking searching, it seems this rumour is rife everywhere. The forums at fasterlouder.com.au seem pretty confident too. Hopefully this comes to pass, but if it turns out to be a crock of shit, the person who started should die a very painful death!!

Interpol seem to be the other heavy favourite. Queens of the Stone Age have also been mentioned. If I had to make an uneducated guess, I'd say QOTSA would be near certainties to do the BDO next year.

Christ, RATM and QOTSA at the same gig.... :D:thumbsu::thumbsu:

It would be the best BDO ever if QOTSA, Interpol and RATM played.

Have also heard UNKLE are a possibility, another one is...........Smashing Pumpkins.

*Drools*

Alice in Chains, Nirvana and Jimi Hendrix will be playing, I heard it from someone very hight up in the industry.

I'd love if RATM played BDO but the fact is that unless it has a reliable source or link, you're a fool to get excited about it. Ever since Alice in Chains got back together, they've been "a certainty of playing BDO".

of course RATM are a rumour considering that they've reformed... but given that they've only played 7 gigs in north america over a 5-6 month period, i would think it's highly unlikely that they would come out to australia so soon... it will happen one day, but not this year... i have my money on them headlining the 2009 BDO...

for me i think it will be the smashing pumpkins this year...

fair point... but i don't know... i've got that feeling that this is it... still i'd be stoked if it were the pumpkins touring in place of ratm.

Was lucky enough to see RATM last time they played BDO. Got there at the start of their set, was about 50m from the stage. 3rd song in they play killing in the name of, when the song had finished 3/4 of the crowd dissapeared which was good as i got to be about 5m from the front and witness one of the best performances i have seen at a BDO.

Would have loved to be at that BDO, sadly I was all of about 10 at the time.
Don't think I would have enjoyed it back then as much as I would if I had that lineup now, but how often can you say you got to see the likes of Porno for Pyros, RATM, the Prodigy, Rancid and Radio Birdman all in one day.
BDO use to have the goods, now there's too much filler.

oh, and sorry to rub it in, but i got to see them at their first show back together earlier in the year, at the coachella music festival...

it was awesome

the AIC that has got back together isn't AIC, I wouldn't even think of going to see them

Yeah that was some show. Unfortunately Birdman played at the same time as P4P, but they'd played a few pub gigs around that period so sacrificed most of their set to see Perry's mob in their entirety. Was a great day, and like Willy I greatly benefited from the masses who deserted RATM after about fifteen minutes - there was room to swing a cat up front!

Yeah you're right, it's not how AIC should be. Not comparing them to the Doors but it's like when they tried to do the Doors without Morrison. Sure the replacement could actually be better than the original but with some bands, most the appeal is derived from the singer. You can't replace Layne, the only reason I'd consider it would be see Cantrell, but it's not AIC.

I hope The Offspring do the BDO, too. A leading line-up of RATM, Smashing Pumpkins and Offspring would excite me a lot. :D
Early 90`s board

But clearly evident that is what Lees and West are catering for these days (not that i am complaining)..... cashed up 30 somethings with plenty of disposable income ... i think it`s great :thumbsu: .

Remember the old days of the BDO at the showgrounds full of 16-18 year olds drinking water all day ... pokey , shitty little bars where you couldn`t see anything .... no money in that now is there ;)
