Sure we can and sure you can, Rawlings has said that he is happy to play at Geelong, even if his first preference was North and we do get the first pick. Salary Cap = non-issue!

Yeah, lets hope Rawlings just ****s them over big time! Maybe he could just not nominate for the draft. That would be awesome! But if we can work around it, and in some way get him to the Cattery then let's do it!!

What is stopping him from not nominating in the draft and sitting footy out for a year? That would make things very 'interesting' :)
We could employ him as a runner or something for a year so he gets the feel of the club :).

I don't blame the doggies...they were looking for a deal. I do blame the Hawks, I'm sure we offered something stupid to them for him and Rawlings stated he wanted to go here if it weren't for his brother.
:( If only we had a coach like Kevin Sheedy to come out and make a statement.

I have to force myself to look on the positive side - Our pick 7 is now a pick 5 (what with Stevens and Rawlings being picked up). Also guys we also got rid of Clarke :D, and hell Loats might show something now that's he not in such a poor club.

If the tigers were 'stuffing up football' the hawks are killing off any sort of dignity that was left. I am disgusted and very angry with the Hawks.

Most importantly - poor Rawlings, I really feel for the man.

HAWTHORN ARE CROOKS....

I WLL WATCH EVERY GAME NEXT YEAR HOPING THEY LOSE.

I HOPE THE AFL DO INVESTIGATE....ALL THAT WILL RESULT IS A FINE SO THE AFL BENEFIT AGAIN.

How would that help?

Unless we finish last and have the first pick next season, then we are no better off! And what is it going to do for Rawlings?

I'm not that upset, we haven't paid anything so we haven't lost anything, and we might yet get him through the preseason draft without having to give up a draft pick. Now that would be robbery!

Mung there are two drafts. The national draft and the pre-season draft. We have pick 7 in the National draft and pick 5 in the Pre-season draft. Rawlings and Stevens have to go into the pre-season draft if they want to get paid above minimum wage.

I'm with you Jim Boy, we could still get Rawlings if we can be as devious as both Hawthorn and the Bulldogs have been, but would our club resort to that level??

Gotta feel for Rawlings, all he wanted was to play footy in the same team as his brother, and if that wasn't possible, he was happy to play for our club.

To be honest i think he and Pickering will be doing all in there power to get Him to the cats next year, he aint a dog yet and if he comes to geelong well....itll be the steal of the century, remember if he wanted to go to the dogs they wouldnt of traded Veale for pick 6
