LDU is lazy when he doesn’t have it. That will always be the knock on him. Great one way runner but shithouse defensively.

We move ball ok at times. They move ball better. And more often.

Ground ball situations we're no good. They're good.

Their mids quicker than ours.

Debutants well up for it.

We did well to score two goals given where the ball was for most of the quarter.

What’s clear is that Lazzaro put some serious time in practicing running around flapping his arms around during the preseason. Obvious to see why he was given a prime midfield role for round 1……

Not a bad quarter, but we look a little under done while GWS look like a team that has played an extra game. The kids look really good though, McKercher, Duursma had a couple of nice moments, and Sheezel and Wardlaw are very good.

You are on the North board . They were quicker. Delivered it to anyone on four options. We butchered opportunities. But still better than last year.

Lack of pressure in midfield on turnovers is killing our defense. They should be up by 6 goals. Moving the ball reasonably well. Sam Taylor is a freak, smashing Larks.

My early observation, one too many attacking half backs. All pushing up and when we turn it over we aren’t able to cover it. Key backs stood up well considering.

This statline probably tells enough of the story. We're not composed enough (did improve) and keep giving them the ball at half forward where they just start swarming, and then our mids can't/don't pressure enough.
