So have Stengle and Smith been not playing for other reasons? I know we let our players live their lives but I know Stengle pushes it a bit

Was wondering when someone would put two and two together and come up with 258. To be honest, it's about a week later than I thought it would be.

I reckon there's a certain poster that's most commonly found in pear trees that surely gets a mention here.

Anyone know what happened to him? Seems to have disappeared since mid 2022 apart from a brief period in late 2023.
I haven't seen him on this board since he told everybody off who dared suggest the Cats could improve in 2024.

For some reason he's still one of the posters I most associate with BigFooty Cats. Probably because he's been one a mainstay on the forums for most of my time here, until the last few years at least. And I did enjoy what he brought to the forum at times even though I disagreed with him a lot.

He's still around, just around the main board

I think the stadium that had the Olympics is next door and is called the Accor stadium…. Engie is alwasy unavailable due to it being the showgrounds

Thanks TC

As a former Sydney girl, we call it Sydney Showground Stadium. Small capacity of 25,000. Hope the surface is better than Olympic Stadium.

Not everybody.

Always enjoyed Partridge. He had excellent footy intelligence, fantastic sense of humour. He was patient + helped me when I first joined.

Sorry, this is what I was referring to. Got grumpy at the suggestion Geelong's cliff may not have arrived towards the end. I didn't recall your presence in that thread. :)

Yes, he could be irritable sometimes.

We’re all allowed are opinions. Some are more forceful.

Look at the discussion in the review thread about Stevens 🙄

No, I didn’t read that thread.

Oh it wasn't really a criticism; more a general observation. He didn't seem to like us much at the time (a similar hiatus in 2022) so I wasn't surprised that he left.

It doesn't really worry me how bad people think Geelong will be, I just don't think we're ready for our Richmond/West Coast style collapse quite yet.

Incentive to get into and stay in the 8 is definitely real.
Same same with the doggies v crows game prior to ours. This round especially is loaded with t4 t8 results on the line, narrowing it down to our aspirations every round until finals will be live on where we finish.

GWS will be trying their guts out no matter what though. So will all 9 teams in contention. They don't sit and watch other games thinking "oh, we can afford to slack off against Geelong now" or vice versa.
Your looking at it from the point of sides slacking off we are looking at it from the point of sides stepping up.

I said vice versa which included the situation you described. Why would GWS try any harder because GC held on last night? It just makes zero sense. There are 6 more games with nothing separating about 8 sides. Every game will be treated with maximum seriousness. 2nd through 9th could change off a dime.

Ask yourself to what end what's the incentive what drives them over these last 6 games. My answer is ladder position what's yours.
