We've had 165 shots over the past 5 rounds more than any other team and yet we're ranked 18th for accuracy, 165 shots for just 63 goals, that's over 100 shots in just 5 weeks that resulted in either a behind or didn't score...

Of all the criticisms that can be laid at the coaching and footy department as a whole, this is the one that gets me riled up the most. It’s obviously something that can be developed and improved, but it’s been consistently poor for years and it never seems to be taken seriously.

It’s literally the only ****ing stat that matters. Maybe worth putting some time into it?

Ticks every marker for the usual Bulldogs poor performance.

- Not switched on from the get go

- Atrocious goal kicking

- Missed tackles

- Opposition afforded ridiculous amount of space

- Key players having stinkers

- English monstered in the ruck



Really thought we had turned the corner over the past month.

We actually outplayed them for long periods of the second and third quarter, but let them out of stoppages to Buku vs Fogarty with predictable result.

We missed so many gettable opportunities.but our kicking to the forwards was terrible usually straight to to defenders advantage.

Seems like we have no idea how to play the AO.

And it just seems to be getting worse. Everyone can see it, the media bang on about it, but nobody seems to address it.
Do we need to rattle tins to pay for decent forward line and goal kicking coaches.

It’s not as if it’s shaped like an L. It’s a football oval.

It’s long and skinny like Geelong, so you need an extra kick and an extra tall target.

Crows and Port know that see how they structure their forwards accordingly.

We just seemed to bomb it long to the goal square continually - same as the port game.

One thing stays the same - our kicking for goal is abysmal.

Has been for at least 4 seasons now.

Seems like we show no confidence lining up and we rarely look relaxed in preparation.

Astounding that the club accepts it.

If we managed to win it from here it will just highlight how average the comp has been this year with no standout team.

Poor planning with no changes for this week. You need to look at the matchups and make changes where necessary, even after an easy win where the whole team played well. Buku got torched by the selections team this week. Mismatches on him are a problem that has happened before. Having no option to move him when he was getting creamed was another major issue.

Completely underestimated the opponent and got a real lesson on several fronts, again. Not that it's a lesson that will be heeded.

I like Buku but he was totally unable to match his opponents today. They were all huge. (Fogarty actually looked fat, but never mind, he managed to kick goals virtually unopposed.)

Nobody stood out except everyone’s favourite whipping boy, who never gave up trying. I hope Bevo gives him a vote.

We looked like a team (especially the mids) that had run out of steam after a grinding 10 week campaign to me.

A team that looked at the expanses of Adelaide Oval and collectively said yeah, nah that looks like a lot of running, chasing and tackling.

A team that looked at the ladder and accepted the reality that the top four was going to be out of reach.

We were ripe for the picking and Adelaide took full advantage.

Id expect a much better showing this week on the smaller confines of Colonial Stadium.

Will anything change, or any corrective actions taken? Not bloody likely. Who needs goal accuracy anyway...

Buku is fine if the opposition is being forced into slow ball movement and under heavy pressure.

In short, he basically needs everything to be going well up the field to be effective. Some of his efforts this afternoon were embarrassing.

We can't play Jones, Lobb, Buku and Coffield. If Dale gets well held and Bramble doesn't play like prime Andrew McLeod

then our ball movement is non-existent.

Love Weightmans energy and attack on the footy, but some of his efforts were just stupid. I understand his trying to get the boys going, but diving around and running blindly into packs was just leaving Crows players open on the outside.

Richards was absolutely invisible. Our midfield normally feast on other midfields that aren't explosive or quick.

English's ruck effort continues to be head stretcher.

Got me wondering when Bont was "in doubt" during the week - was this perceived as an easy game; were we angling to give The Champ a rest without a direct insult to the Crows?

Just the isinuation of Bont being rested may have fired them up, hey?

David King mentioned through the week our goal kicking accuracy will cost us a big game. He was spot on with his analysis and it dismissed any chance of being in the game today

Could see this loss coming 1min into the game when our defenders were all sucked into a contest and didn’t react to a turnover, letting two Adelaide players out the back for an easy goal.

Going into a Grand Final, I wouldn’t feel comfortable with Vandermeer’s decision making or Buku’s 1-on-1 ability. Don’t think either can be trusted in a finals run. Would prefer to see Freijah and Gallagher in their roles.

Down games from Richards, Naughton, Weightman, Dale, Duryea, Jones, West, English etc. Our recent form has come from everyone performing their role well, we had far too many passengers today.

Darcy was our most threatening forward and couldn’t kick straight. McNeil worked hard and was our only small forward that contributed. Williams, Treloar and Bont tried hard. Poulter and Bramble ok too but that’d be it. I can’t remember us having any control or fluid ball movement.

Hard to explain otherwise. Even when they've been having a down day the best players in the comp usually find a way to influence the game.

Lobb's usually good marking deserted him today. Grassed a lot of balls you would normally back him to mark That one on the switch on the forward flank was hideous and Crows slingshot from there for an easy goal
