The first 3 weeks are a non event when it comes to league games. Sure there's a bit of interest in how your sides performing and your overall ranking. However the overwhelming majority play SC for the league games.

What do you think about the idea,of giving the first three rounds some meaning. The way the fixture is set out to play each other once is good,so no changes to that, but perhaps the highest 4 teams in the league by the end of round 3,win a bit of extra cash to go onto there salary cap. Say 100K for 1st,50k for 2nd,25k for 3rd,15k for 4th.

Any merit,or just dribble?

Cool Idea, but I doubt that it is feasible. Would be sorta hard to organize on the actual website I'd think.

Besides, I woulda been knocked out with my 2089 already.

Re: RD1-3,playing for a cause

people might rush trades to get the most inform player...also whats to stop the person creating really easy public leagues to gain an advantage for the main comp?

On your first point, that's the risk they'd have to be willing to take to try and win some extra cash. It can be treated like the Nab Cup...some may want to win it,others may treat it like Paul Roos has in the past.

On your second point...it's a good argument, but are people going to go around and find 15 playing SC muppets? If so then they deserve the cash

Re: RD1-3,playing for a cause

Many people (probably most on this board) do play for overall ranking. The difference between public and private leagues is huge, it's unfair to award the top ranked team in an extremely weak public league extra salary cap room, while those sitting mid table in private leagues ranked in the top 20 get nothing. As well as this, how do you award coaches in more than one league?

generally if u start a public league u'll be grouped with a bunch of epic failures...that is if your team is good enough

Very valid point:thumbsu:

Looks like I'm back to the drawing board with ideas trying to spark up the first three rounds

the first three rounds are like the Nab cup...us fantasy footballers vitally need it ...

without the nab cup our rookie picking wud be stuffed

I know what your saying, in terms of there being little interest in the first three rounds for coaches only worried about their league. However for the many who are also focused on their overall ranking, the first three rounds are critical in determining your success for the rest of the season. The main prizes awarded in SuperCoach are based around your overall ranking and for that reason I don't believe coaches should be recieving bonuses based on their league performances.

Re: RD1-3,playing for a cause

I like the idea, should be suggested to the creators. Although it would be possible to cheat for overall, say having a whole league filled with your team and duds.

Re: RD1-3,playing for a cause

I reckon they could have a NAB Cup mini knockout comp which could work like this -

Week 1 - Each team plays another team and the 8 winners make it to week 2.

Week 2 - The 8 winners play each other and the 4 that win go to week 3.

Week 3 - The 4 winners play. 1 vs 2 and 3 vs 4. The 2 winners get extra cash. Out of the two winners the one that scored the most gets $50k in extra salary cap and the other team gets $25k.

Can have a pre season cup for the team that scored the most out of the last 2 winners.

Re: RD1-3,playing for a cause

JM, you didn't think thisthrough again did you?

Just with overall starting, your going to have some people starting round 4 with 10 and a bit million while others start with less. I know it isn't much, but it's stupid for others to start with more. All that will happen is everyone will put them sleves in stupid leagues to get that cash wasting peoples time.

and 2ndly, if I'm in 3, and I win all 3 do I get the cash bonus form all 3? Because with 150k extra thats quite a big jump.

A knockout would be fun, but I'd prefer they introduce an elimation style thing like DT has.

Hadn't thought this through again? Not sure what you meant there as I just read this thread and then added my thoughts. It wasn't like I read the thread once and then came back and read it twice to think it through again. :)

Well I was just adding to what had already been said and I had thought it through (don't know why you thought I wouldn't have) ;)

Adding money together as one lump sum from the whole 3 leagues you are in? Why on earth would that happen for?

It would definitely add to the game IMO if there was a knockout NAB Cup comp for the 1st three rounds as its kinda boring not playing anyone.

Something should be given to the highest scoring two teams left in the mini knockout comp. :thumbsu:

Re: RD1-3,playing for a cause

One of the more ludicrous ideas I've read.

Each to their own.

I reckon its a great idea. :thumbsu:

They can give the highest scoring team in the first three rounds a pre season cup, that would be cool. LOL! :o

Re: RD1-3,playing for a cause

The only bonus to be given that I can see working is awarding premiership points for your league ladder. That way it doesn't effect overall ranking nor does it matter if your in more than one league.

Re: RD1-3,playing for a cause

Bad idea. For people in multiple leagues, you'd have to restrict winnings to each specific league, which makes team selection totally unworkable from how it is set up now.

Kinda agree. there hsould be some small bonus.. e.ge 1 prem point, so that if your drawing on prem point with another team you are ahead regarldess or points.

If you haev small leagues effecting overall you hit problems.

Put it this way, would you like to know your already starting out on your back foot in overall because on one week your scored a bit less than someone else?

You ccould be top 500, get beaten in in the 3rd week because your missing a couple of key players, still get a 2400, but be taken out by a flukey 2404 of someone else. You then can't get Brown, while others can, hence putting you on a back foot in the overall
