quote="Sambookaman, post: 31300825, member: 145128"]I'm quoting fact now

1- Only persons at graduation where dipper and Dawson and only said good day to cam while passing his table to grab dinner all of 3 seconds there was no footy chat as we where at our children's graduation and I don't discuss footy 24/7.
2- There was no footy discussion at all and also have never spoken to any lancefield players as don't no any .

3- t was saint Mary's graduation at lancefield last week not broadford .
4- have had conversation with one other coach who also has contacted me at times in mutual discussions.
5- And what's the issue of getting another scope from a successfull coach all footy coaching staff should be doing it to better the game and there ability to coach .

6- Have you spoken to Any players from clubs ?
7- Best stick to coaching rather than story telling also like all clubs don't understand your concern as we have had players spoken to by other clubs but thats footy.
Have a merry xmas
All the best in he new year ,[/

I have had regular talks with Sambookaman about several topics of late, to be honest I haven't shared this info because its not for me to tell. If the things I am hearing from you are correct then Broadford will definitely be on the move up the ladder. More facts than rumours I believe.

As for my own footy club hopefully we will have our list sorted just after the new year, been a very busy few months with all the recruiting and re-signing players that went on. Should be several ex AFL players running around the RDFL in 2014.

The comp is moving in the right direction that's a fact.
Hey coach is there a chance young (BLUEY) Callum Lever would get a regular game this year and how is his body holding up to all the PISS????? oh shit i mean the rigorous pre season going???????

Bluey is a massive chance to be playing a few 1s games. One of my favorite young blokes down there. I know its a massive call but he has one of the best set of marking hands I have seen. Top kid and his old man is great bloke too.

As for the drinking piss bit, he needs to do it more so he can chuck on some weight.

Was wondering how other clubs are situated moving into the new year
Any one out there with any news they would like to share

:footy: :thumbsu: :)

Sadly word has it most at Riddell are keeping clear of these pages but a mate was with one of their new recruits over the break and sounds like they're the team to beat.

Kilmore will improve on the back of all the Whittlesea inclusions, but in my opinion will also miss players like McCullough, Peckham, Rick Saunders and most importantly Sheldon if he heads to play major league footy at Seymour.

Wallan quietly going about their business, I did have quite a few of the Kilmore lads over for a beer a fortnight ago and they tried telling me Luke Crowley is a big chance to join the Magpies, the youong fella can play footy. I'm also told they expressed interest in Joshie Alam from Kilmore too.

And if you believe everything you hear, Broadford have signed 10-15.

Until Feb 1 comes and goes and recruits who have "signed" are actually registered players then its still pretty much a guessing game ......

To everyone involved at Footy/Netball clubs throughout the RDFL in 2014 I'd like to extend the very best of wishes and say "good luck" :thumbsu:

No doubt it wont be long 'til your clubs return to the training track, must say it's the first time in a decade or so that I have had not one ounce of involvement (or interest) in football ..... but I wont lie, as much I am missing it, the wife and kids seem to be appreciative that we're functioning better as a family already.

Can't wait to cruise around and see some (stress free) football for the first time in a while.

Well
Well done to Nath Blair from the Redbacks, being signed on at Coburg, well deserved, good luck for 2014.One of many young guns to come out of Romsey.
Well done Nathan great kid and family
Have any other players been offered contracts ?

Looking forward to it

I see that the word Banned is on some of the forum contributors, what does this refer to and if they are banned in the normal sense of the word how do they still get on the the site or am I barking up the wrong tree????

Who's everyone playing in Practice Matches? Interested to know what the strength of opposition clubs your club will be playing against. We have a few options still open at that moment including a couple of lighting premiership comps. We also have Tullamarine booked in on the 29th.

I had a look at some photos taken yesterday, of Riddell fc ground last night. It has been resurfaced and grass starting to grow, what is the go with all the small rocks all over it.?

I thought we just got rid of the bloody socialists !
This bull shit points system is a massive restraint of trade which penalises the WELL run footy club & instead fosters poor footy club admin', lazy & inept player recruiting & retention, not to mention a nightmare to implement & enforce.
Definitely NOT needed here thanks.
Best left to places like North Korea me thinks comrade !!!

Interesting read given success to particular clubs in more recent

Read the Courier whilst in Ballarat on the weekend, to be honest I'm not a big fan of it. This league should go an chase a few more clubs which means more $$$ in additional fee's then go to a two tiered comp.
This time round though the Div.2 premier doesn't have to go straight up if they're not up to it, win two in a row and you have to ......

Sunbury Kanga's
Diggers
Riddell
Romsey
Rupo
Macedon
Centrals

(plus 2 .... maybe a BFL club or 2)

Lancefield
Woodend
Kilmore
Wallan
Broadford
Rockbank

(plus 2 .... Trentham? East Sunbury???)

Be nice lads it's just a thought to keep the thread going, along with clearances opening November 1st instead of this February 1 crap.

This is history repeating itself, the reason the strong teams left the comp (Melton, Melton South, Gisborne, Darley) was because they out grew the comp, the teams who where left in their wake were complaining & did nothing to improve their own performance, in other words they would sit back like they are now & do nothing, no recruiting & no revenue raising! In the last four or five years, some teams have worked hard to raise money so they could improve the standard, some teams have followed & some have done nothing, if you want a sh*t comp, go and join one! If you don't recruit you wont get numbers through the gates, then you don't make money! Yes some players get paid more than their worth, Tucky & Hall worth every cent! Put a cap in place then go & watch sh*t footy like it was five years ago!

Makes sense that, I do agree that some clubs need to pull up their socks, improve perceptions/reputations and find a way to join the stronger clubs both on and off the field.

Dunno about 5 years ago mate, more like 10+ years ago ('90s & early 2000s) when the mass exodus of the selfish & self centred clubs that couldn't see the bigger picture & wouldn't work to solve the problems our league was experiencing back then. They happily deserted our great brand & left our comp' at what turned out to be its lowest ebb.
But look who's laughing now. They are ALL struggling in strife ridden leagues that are pretty much in decline which bare no relevance to their individual demographic or region, with massive amounts of travelling involved. Is it any wonder their attendances are only rivalled by that of the local sheep dog trials !!!
Whilst our little "district" METRO comp' right here is going from strength to strength.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. It makes me wonder, would the "Ego" driven exodus have occurred if those same clubs could have seen where it has put them.........& whats more, seen where the great RDFL is positioned today ????

very difficult to enforce this type of set up. We all know that no players in this comp get paid, but if by chance a club decided to pay a player would that player have to pay tax on that money? Omni next they will be making your club declare all earnings for the players the club has given jobs to.

all clubs have their good periods and their hard times.its up to each club to rebuild if they r struggling just as its essential for the top clubs to keep improving and growing. I dont think its necessary to cap the comp to even it up. Only my opinion but it does seem harsh towards the well run clubs

I am pretty sure it aint the club that has given blokes jobs mate.
We are very lucky down here at the "Creek" pal to have many successful businessmen to count amongst our ranks. Obviously these super savvy masters of industry & commerce want the highest quality (both in intellect & superior physical attributes) of people in their employ. In that, it is no coincidence that they find what they are looking for in abundance at the RFNC !
Surely you cant hold it against us pal for having a better gene pool down here, than say some other clubs ???

The RDFL was a mess in the mid 90's - the gap between the strong and weak sides was massive. Something had to give. Riddell managed to win 2 flags but then went into recession.

From 1972 to 1999 the current RDFL sides - only Riddell with 2 and Wallen with 1 - won a flag. The best thing to happen to the league were the more powerful clubs at the time leaving.

After Gisborne's 3 peat 97-99 - the next 6 flags were won by a differnt team - Jacana, Kilmore, Woodend, Romsey, Lancefield and Riddell. That is great for a comp and kicked started the RDFL recovery.

Not sure the young Kilmore side would have enjoyed playing against the Sunbury Lions in 2013. 5 foot 2 - Jamie Lobb might have given Mick Werner's 38 goals in a game a nudge.

Pretty sure Kilmore are playing (not sure of the order) Heathcote, Craigieburn, Ivanhoe, Yea.
