I see Jon Kent's clearance has been denied for the 3rd time. Presuming he has signed a contract, it will be interesting to see how this one pans out.

AFL Vic I don't think we're gunna help when Cam Cloke wanted out from Jacana so agree unless Lancefield say yes there could be a stalemate

Doon are you still involved in the junior footy? Hearing on the grapevine today the rdfnl have introduced a system in the juniors to not show scores where margins are beyond certain amounts on scoreboards and clubs now banned from naming best players and goal kickers ! If true they have lost their mind haven't they.
Yes you are correct.
The u16.5 a&b competitions are a shambles with 100 point blowouts the norm.
The league decided this year not to grade the competition hence the blowouts.
The league has now decided mid season to put a band aid on it by capping winning margins to 80 points and not putting up best players and goal kickers from each game on the rdfl website.
There are a lot of pissed off clubs at the moment and unless its fixed I reckon some junior clubs could look at possibly moving leagues to align with their senior club.

This no scoring, capped scoring, not publishing best players and goal kickers in all juniors is ridiculous. How the hell are we supposed to raise resilient kids if we keep shielding them from life's disappointments? Life is hard, sport is hard. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose but learning how to deal with both is the most important thing.

RIP RDFL what a joke seriously who is in charge spoke today to a junior coach in the wrfl he couldn't stop laughing thought I was crapping to him
this will make kids sticking around to play under18 even harder
Perhaps next season we can play with a nurf ball so no one gets hurt
Time for clubs to stand up to those they employe

He played today, cleared this morning and kicked 6 I think. In a 50 point loss

Amazing I thought no way is this true but confirmed today like you have all discussed. What a joke. Seriously is their a club out there that don't find the rdfnl or goldfields in the administration of this comp incompetent, their are countless examples but at some point clubs please stand up, protect what you got or had.

I seen an absolute pantsing in Sunbury. Stop the competition and hand the trophy over to the cats now. The look fit, move the ball fast and clean. Left the Roos for dead after a close defensive 1st qtr. The bang. Roos looked slow and unfit. Too many pies on Friday night and left their happy faces in bed. Anyone know what's going on behind closed doors? Don't seem to be getting along as a team.

Wow big statement still reckon that round 11 clash at diggers will tell us a story Macedon must win that game as Diggers have the wood on them
As for your statement re Sunbury what's your amo on this or do you just hate Sunbury perhaps they had a bad day ????

No ammo. Just what the game was played like and the body language on a few of what I'd say 90% of the lads. They showed good signed of run in to few of patches.

If they don't, the players will move to neighbouring clubs in other leagues. I have a couple of kids playing RDFL juniors and did not find one person at yesterday's games who was happy with this.

Sounds like you people may have to lobby ya club's executive, then get your club president to take this feedback to the board if it's a majority thought at your club.
The Board is meant to represent the thoughts and best interests of it shareholders (the clubs) who may pretty good dough, as extension of that as a parent I'm sure you're paying good money to so collectively parent's voices deserve to be heard too otherwise it's simple, we will see more and more clubs/kids go elsewhere for footy fixes.

And for the recorded frustrated I'm led to believe some of these topics were originally recommendations tabled at a junior presidents meeting - so whether it be by majority or unanimously they were rubber stamped by the clubs' nominated voice.

How many games can an under 18 play before they over qualify for finals if the senior team doesn't make finals or is knocked out of finals?

Up to half the season is ok, anymore than half is too many. So in a 16 game season 8 is ok, 9 is not.

However if an 18's player plays 18's on the same day as seniors in the RDFL it is counted as the lesser 18's game.

Going by the scores from rep game it looks like kids already moving on or Riddel league has no depth. The under 14 a/s got beat 9gls to 8 whilst the 14 b/s got beat 20 goals to no score.I thought Riddel must of had score wiped for fielding too many or where those scores not correct?Im glad to see the Western region didnt play by the mercy rule and the scores published.

I know many comps have similar rules why is that?Surely the better players should not be penalised for being good?Surely if development is the priority they should be able to drop back whenever needed or is it better that come finals a good young bloke misses out and watches from the sidelines?

Ease up I was trying to reply to your post but its been deleted?Your in a similar mould to David Rhys Jones and are more often suspended than playing on this forum lol.Yes as we often see on this forum those that actually know things as fact will either deny or simply ignore or deflect the issue.I for one think we need more Kestons and Ease Ups on this forum as much as I often disagree with some of your posts surely were entitled to an opinion.

As a whole the Vic Metro stuff was not too bad for the league. 15A won all three, 15B were competive enough and wine one. The 14A lost an entertaining game vs EDFL by stuff all, were right in it vs WRFL too before winning game 3.

It's a tough one, the RDFL would surely have the thinnest demographic pool in terms of clubs/kids etc to pick from so every now and then a group simply won't stack up.

I noticed the NFL board there was a similar topic discussed today also.

Footy like life has become complicated, as my dad would say back in the day,
Footy was mates family fun there where humble legends and men made common sense decisions.
Today it's all about the correctness life has become, men are scared to say what they want for they may be belittled or crucified, community has a new meaning and legends don't hang around they chase the $$$.
People pump there chest out thinking it's a way to get recognition even at the cost of others and the rules of our land the new generation means our game is lost and will never be the same.
It hasn't hit some country areas as bad but the sproul like urban Sproul will hit them one day our great game is slowly dying at a local level
I predict soon clubs won't be clubs but a business with directors and employees Its started and can't be stoped ..
:(

The rule changes with juniors was not properly consulted with clubs I believe but clubs put in a grade told league they were not strong enough and clubs (some) in b asked to be in a but denied so league mucked up.. I am told some clubs given up trying to talk to league at senior and junior level said don't waste breath never heard such discontent as current.

Question: it costs a lot more for those to admin the league these days, is the service actually better than what it was fifteen years ago?

Footy wise great to see Riddell win on weekend breath life into the countdown for the 6 spots.

It is a stupid rule. All clubs have gun 18's at some point that should be able to play senior football. Unfair that whether they can play underage finals or not is determined by if the senior team plays finals.

This rule has been around for ages clubs have adapted to it in the past to qualify players for 18's finals while also playing seniors Macedon did with Wright, Dettman, Markworth and the like, Riddell did with Robbo, Petran, Climas and co and Woodend/Hesket with Bowen, Stacey, Downing and co, just needs forward planning.

So what. Because things have been done like this forever doesn't mean they're right.

I agree with Rodriguez. If you're u18 it shouldn't matter how many games you play at senior level. So long as you've played the required number of games for the club then come finals time you can play in whatever team the club likes and go up and down as required.
