If you played any of the top 6 teams from RDFL Rupertswood you would be suprised of the end result. Anyway everyone is over the arguement between Rupertswood and everyone else! As for past players that have left good luck to them, good to see them proving you blokes don't give everyone an oppurtunity and you favour more than others. Oh well sh1t happens! You should worry about yourself getting a run rather than others!

As for our Rupo player's which has left the club has been almost named in the best consistantly since the start of the season

1.Housey
2.Kingy
3.Mcgrath
4.Bobby
5.Watto

Who cares what you think, there proving you wrong! Best wishes, keep sending them our way, they seem to get better when they move from your club!

I m too sick of hearing all this :D:D:D:D:D bout rupo and the sunbury roos our league and this thread hve better things to talk about, but just in a little defence of our follow riddlers.. the 5 named hvnt been in the best most weeks.. house who played 2's from memory, has been in the best once and alot higher then i think he should of been(rowey(his opponent) also got in the best), kingy is probably the exception he has played well all year, Mcgrath is playing in the magoos, Johnson has been here and there and watson has only played half games

good on the kid play ones as a 17/18 year old, but is it due to is ability or because of the substandard of the riddel district league, inparticular the sunbury kangas. Iis he with calder cannons?

this kid from sunbury is nowhere near the quality of calder cannons hes over weight... hes goes okay... there are much better 17/18 yr olds playin senior football james wright from macedon is a gun... michael kilty from diggers rest is a gun... luke burgess n cam dawson from romsey are good... mills moedt n hede from kilmore are all 18 or under... n one of them has been in da best every week in seniors who cares about sunbury they are inferior to kilmore

Anyway what i am saying is they are all in fine form at the moment other than Watto who is injured, Rowe had 3 kicks after half time mate, just wondeirng if you knew who is opponent was! What was Rowes first half like, awesome i thought, won the game for them in a half! Just wondering if you can tell me when the game changed in third quarter, and what changes where made? anyway who cares about Rupo they have nothin to do with our thread! My picks this week will be

Diggers
Kangaroos - closer than what some think - some good inclusions this week
Woodend
Melton
Kilmore - match round, Kilmore looked the part last week! A Goal in it either way

Bit harsh naming such players as guns and newton as not, from memory i think this is his first year of 18's, i believe if he has the time as the guns u just have name he may be a player of that quality if not better, regardless of which senior club you play for in this league as a 17 year old it is a fair effort to play seniors.

Inferior to Kilmore??? Happy to say that the Kangaroos will finish above Kilmore this season, Kilmore got out of the blocks and away well, put the Kangas on the back foot, no doubt. But the Roos outs would cover Kilmore, we shall see on the return bout, no doubt it will be a cracker..
As for Paul being overweight, you are wrong, Paul is built very well for a kid his age, is a ready made player, needs to learn a few small discaplines and will be a very good senior footballer.. Hede was in the game for the first 2 minutes on Saturday, then was quiet, very quiet...

interesting you say very quiet ... the kid still got in the best wasnt his best game yet... but thats just ur opinion wood say he had a very good first quarter n then was obviously affected by an injured ankle

Rupo people r tools next year i want to have a praci match against them i reken kangas would win with all the guns that have left Rupo such as house, watto, bobby, kingy and mcgrath ;)

i think u boys are forgetting goudge and duffy in the back line late in the 3rd n 4th quarter - sunbury were hitting duffy on the chest like one of their own for the last 40 min - goudge with a knee injury held his 4 opponents goal less for the game which he has been carrying for last 4 weeks - sunbury have had the wood over us for the last few matches but i think the blues will make that 5th spot above kangas, macedon, melton l/field n rockbank - but will be a close season...excitin times ahead though with the top 5 to be battled out by 8 sides - no disrespect to the rams or the tigers!!!

Heard around the traps the Al Meldrum of Romsey will come and play D4 ammos with Richmond Central next year. I have no idea of Meldrum's abilities? any good? ive heard he's average, but he seems to be a key player at romsey

Thats special, i can't comment on the priest giving rub downs cause i don't play there, but as for hawker 28 and his top 6 players. You've got to kidding me don't you. If these players are your top 5 or so at your club your in trouble. Cam Watson is a good player and would be at any club, bobby johnson is an honest backman and from what i hear should of played in the senior grand final for rupo last year. But for the others alot of question marks are poised above their heads particulary in terms of their skills and pace. Nothing against the individuals whom i do not know personally but in regards to their footballing ability they weren't the first in line when it was getting given out thats for sure.

I watched the kangas game last weekend and house did play alright on rowe but the news out of Kilmore is that he is carrying ostitus pubis which is severly inhibiting his ability to perform. Managed to get second best which is a credit to his character and ability to achieve in the face of adversity, despite hawka28s beliefs he obviously had an impact on outcome of the game despite houses best efforts. This suggests that house, whilst the endeavour might be their may find himself out of his depth coming up against fully fit opponents particulary later on in the year when the race for premiership points is hotting up.

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't Mcgarth playing twos?

Is their any U18 kangas at the Calder Cannons, just curious because earlier in the thread many sunbury supporters highlighted the development of their junior programs that were producing skilled underage footballers from within the club. If this is the case surely the kangas would have at least one individual training down there. The lions and Rupo have a couple down there i belive.

On a final note before i leave to make the long journey down to Dandenong to watch the cannons and the stingrays tommorow perhaps someone could tell me the "handouts both sunbury lions and rupertswood are said to recieve" i'm eager to know?

I see there has been a new thread for top 5 players at your club,
was wondering who ppl thought were the top 5 players for each rdfl team this year?

having played at richmond centrals myself and now living in the riddell area and knowing quite a few riddell league players If he was a key play at romsey he will be a gun at the centrals . while the rdfl has not got a reputation as a strong metro league it is leaps and bounds ahead of d4 ammos . Its probably about c/d1 ammos .

meldrum has won the rdfl league b&f he would dominate in that grade of ammos.

Was it you footy nerd that mentioned a mid season crisis at the kangaroos eat your words mate romsey are one of the flag favourites and beaten by 21 points by the roos yesterday the roos played great footy despite having close to top 5 players out.i believe romsey were full strength but looked like there heads weren't right and i'm sure it will be different later in the year.

I'm not bragging as we don't have that right, just pointing out we are competetive and will push sides and sometimes maybe even upset the result.the next 2 weeks playing woodend and riddell both massive games both clubs are playing fantastic footy at the moment. if the boys heads are screwed on anything could happen lets wait and see.

This is great for the rdfl as a league, to have such a close comp regardless of what people think of the standard.

naaarh RDFL its even a high'r standard (amm leauge) where's the $$$$$$
only kids play in there no d'srespect to amms leauge players
i have played against al... and with al... i say... if the big guy trains and gets him self fitter than 04 or last season he would dominate the leauge
or win the comp by far

its known that romsey sometimes let a lesser side than them get over em whislt there doing there trianing drills on game days to execute them in the big games when needed its not there coach its their players as there a close knitt side who choose to play like that due to this shane geddies of diggers exposed them a few times look at how they run out as to you know when they are switched on ..............................
didnt.......dippa.........play.......well........

I have not yet seen an rdfl game but have spoken to someone(whos opinion i value) who has played alot of footy in the rdfl and alot of c and d grade ammos. Very different footy but he reckons the standard is similar.

A and B are a pretty big jump on the rest of the ammo grades. While its not tough it is a very good standard. Remember the best of the Ammos played the best of all vic country leagues combined last year. They would not play this game if there wasn't alot of very good footballers in the ammos

Ant22 - I have played the RDFL for several years until 2004 and I am currently coaching in the Ammos. The major difference between the lower levels Ammos and RDFL is that the skill level and game speed at times in higher in the Ammos. However a lot of the Ammos sides don't have the even spread of talent that some of the better RDFL sides have. The RDFL will continue on improve providing the clubs continue to support the Under 18's comp. Talent from the 18's will filter into the comp providing they don't get poached by the Bendigo and Ballarat League teams.

If you havn't seen an RDFL game for yourself, to compare to ammo's Ant22 don't give us your opinion or apparent similarities. Comparing RDFL to C-D grade...dont make me laugh!

this season is shaping to be quite an interesting season... kilmore got absoulutely flogged on the weekend...riddel look like they will take the flag again too many damaging players... onball unit very experienced and too strong... good mixture of youth throughout the side with 6 under 18s playin against kilmore on the weekend.. young 37 i think robbo is a gun strong set of hands and nice kick... muz number 20 looks to be quite a tough lil footballer as well as skilled...lee james freak all needs 2 be said

True, the guy is a freak, how do you stop a bloke after he has kicked 10 and already has a broken finger and a bung ankle?

You either punch the crap out him behind play, or do the smart thing and stop the delivery. I don't think Riddell have been tested too much in the last two years. I want to see a coach grab the game by the neck and go on the front foot, rather than trying to have two blokes line up on James.

The bloke is too good for RDFL defenders. Stop the Riddell midfield and he won't kick many.

Purple, What did you think of the game on Saturday?? Good win for the Roos, Romsey's 2's were very good, how did you play?

I didn't play well at all to be honest, i tryed to create something from half-back but was unsuccessful. My opponent didn't kick any or set up any so thats the main thing. Sunbury's firsts looked good, but Romsey were very bad. Expect to see a massive game this Sunday against Lancefield.

Hope everyone can be there to see a genuine RDFL blockbuster!

PS. Lancefield should have three or four good players back this weekend from what I heard at the pub.
