Dogs should not be allowed in Bunnings.

There, I said it.

So dogs are allowed in Bunnings but you can't eat a sausage sizzle in there coz some ******* tripped over a piece of bread? I like dogs but not a fan of animals in indoor public places. Surely your animal can remain at home on its own for 30 minutes. People who take their dog everywhere with them annoy me.

Sometimes I truly despise this planet.

Dogs are ok, it's their owners who are a pain in the arse.
This is my main issue too.
Not a dog owner, but I love dogs. Which is largely why I'm not an owner, since we have neither the space nor the required level of dedication to be a responsible dog owning household atm. Unfortunately that doesn't stop a lot of other people.
Instagram really hasn't helped the situation either, with popularising ridiculous breeds of "dog".

What helps me tolerate it is the thought that for some people, being a shitty dog owner might be a substitute for being a shitty parent.

At least it's only Bunnings, I find the whole emotional support animals on plane thing to be a whole new level of stupidity

I used to work in a pub - only stopped about a month ago - had a regular that would bring their emotional support dog into the bistro regularly. Was super well behaved and was never fed any food from the table. Still found it a bit gross.

If it’s prescribed by a medical professional I don’t really have a problem with it. Lots of science behind trained animals helping with PTSD/dementia/mental health disorders. Obviously if people are using it as an excuse to bring their dog along for free then it’s pretty dumb. But I imagine it’d be a minority of people doing it without a valid reason.

A lot of people with disabilities find a lot of comfort in having their animal in situations that would usually cause them a heap of stress and anxiety so I have no problem with it.

Yeah but ponies? kangaroos? Pigs?

Trying to take a big animal in an enclosed space like a flight is probably doing more trauma to the animal

Well then your emotional support animal clearly needs their emotional support animal to come along.

Sealanes and Fins seem to be going head to head in dropping their prices, which is a win for the consumer. But you can buy them straight off the boat in Freo now, after a change to the licenses which is driven from this China BS. I haven't gone to try and pick any up yet, as my brother is out a couple of mornings a week getting a good haul. Have you looked into it?
No, I know you can get get them at the fishermans wharf in Freo, but dunno when and how much they are. I heard from a mate in Dongara that they were going for $18 up there and yeah the amateurs were cleaning up because not many pros having a go.
I used to catch them for a living and have them on tap so I find it hard to pay for them.
