Pretty much sounds like the mid 90's.
Lyrically not so strong, but overall its alright. Epic nostalgia due to the beat and that "stay local" vibe that was so prevalent in the 90's.
Great to see people embracing a more direct way of promoting themselves and getting their shit out there. Hope they succeed. The kind of fantastical, escapist shit, littered with (not so) obscure pseudo spiritual/political symbolism and beats that sound like a science laboratory explosion is wearing me down.
I suppose that is why I was such a sucker for the Phonte/9th Wonder album. Man just spittin the raw about the struggles day to day, over some bangin beats wid dope ass drum loops.
