And yet you live in France?

Putting us to shame TDM!

I'm not sure, I don't think they did. However I stand to be corrected.

Used to read magazines but they got too expensive.

I'm talking about the ones with text in them like Time.

Hate newspapers, the writer has to do something to a daily deadline so it's mostly filler these days.

I read lots of science and engineering talk on the internet these days.

Pirate pdf for the win. Still magazines just not paying for the paper, or the pdf

Some engineering blogs are cool and people write a bit about the stuff they're doing.

How to launch a geosynchronous satellite? Lots of birthday cake of course :D

Books? What are books? I read all day long.

As others have said, uni has ruined reading for me. I was never one to consume books but I did used to enjoy a good one - usually sports, true crime and sometimes politics. There are four unfinished books on my bedside table at the moment; one is about Julian Assange which has taken me since last Christmas. One of my new years resolutions is to finish six including the Assange one. I'm not confident.

I go through stages of not reading and reading very intensively. Usually say a month or two of one then the other and repeat. If I really like a book I consume it. I'll prioritise reading it and get through several hundred pages a day using every spare minute. Not that I rush through each page, just that I can't put the book (or my kindle) down until I absolutely have to. I don't want to leave the world of the story until the end. Most books aren't like that so I really enjoy it when it happens. One of my favourite things in the world actually.

I love reading. Any spare chance at home or work I'll read....whether it's Matthew Rielly, Clive Cussler, Robert Silverberg or the 'Dune' or 'LOTR' series. I've read most of what I have three or four times. Also love books on ancient Empires, particularly Rome.
