Really Channel 7?

I have 7mate and plenty of hd tv's at my house, but i'm going to my friends for a few weeks and they don't have 7mate, and it's miles and miles away from my house, what a joke!

I know it's hard to believe for those from cities, but there are regional areas still using analog only.

Grand Final will be shown on the main channel in NSW and Queensland - it's part of the deal.

No set top box in this house - no digital channels...

Probably helps in that I rarely, ever watch tv....

Actually I've noticed very poor take up of digital TV in Sydney and I put that down to those people having Fox and the not realising the benefits of having digital.

When is analog getting switched off? When that happens all the lazy people who still haven't made the change will and then 7mate really will be like every other channel.

The analog signal got switched off in Townsville about a year ago. A lot of regional areas are digital only now.

Channel 7 have advertised they are showing on 7 as well. Not sure what the problem is here?

Not always, I have HD foxtel on satellite and don't get all the same channels through it..

I'm one of them. I have the full foxtel HD package and unlike Victoria, I can't get all the fta / fta digital channels through foxtel here. The only fta HD channels we receive through my full HD tv are all the ABC ones.

I can get Ch7 the regular way but the reception is crappy.

Are you saying the FTA channels on Fox are no longer analogue sourced then digital supplied ?

What part of not all areas received the fta HD channels don't you understand? Taking a set top box or a full HD tv would ony allow to receive all the ABC channels. Not much good there.

The finals were meant to be shown on 7mate barring the grand final which would be shown on 7, but maybe 7 realised how great the games are rating in queensland and nsw so they decided to put this game on channel 7 as a test

on 7mate the collingwood and essendon game got 65k in just queensland, that's about the same as south australia.

Essendon vs Collingwood (Victoria 312,000) (South Australia 90,000) (QLD 65,000) Which is a good improvement because here are some ratings from 2010

RICH vs CARL (Victoria 382,000) (Adelaide 84,000) (Queensland 9,000) and the queensland game was on channel 10, this must be good news for the afl

I think channel 7 expected 2k ratings for afl games in queensland and because it's rating so well they have decided to put the sydney vs adelaide game on channel 7 as a test hopefully it goes well

Ch9 has the rl on Gem and they get extraordinarily low ratings for WA and SA and I put that down to being on Gem.
