While I agree with Rough Edges to an extent, I agree with you as well.

Recoba was just assuring his fans and creating some confidence over there that they would make it. It was a little arrogant, but it's no different to how Uruguyans would view our biased news coverage, for example the whole "The planets will align, and 32 years, we're gonna make it"...that kind of stuff would get a similar reaction from Uruguayans.

he nailed that first shot, have not seen many balls with that venom, Schwarzer stood no chance if it was one meter either side of him. He is great with his hands, but eing a big guy he does not get down well and cover the low ball. like with the third penalty that went under his body, not his forte. Great with the inspector gadgets though.

Recoba, unlucky, what a fine player. Has he been injured, he was trememndously out of shape for a professional athlete. He literally had skin folds. Imagine what he would be if in shape. Top 10 player in the world.
