Record without Richo??

Just wondering if anybody knew our win/loss record when Richo was out??

I've often felt we play a more unpredictable style when he hasnt played

sitting 0-8 and with a young group, the timing, although not the way we wanted, is perfect. We need to forge our style without the Richo factor. ;)

Well definately coaches and players of opposition clubs have to re-jig their game plans when we don't have the big fella, so there's newness in that for them (good for us).

Hopefully TW has put together a game plan that is more versatile in terms of who does what than anything we've previously had. I remember in 2004 98% of balls kicked into the forward 50 went to (or at least vaguely towards) Richo. My, how did the opposition ever defeat that strategy?

I am seriously glad Richo's eye is not serious and that he'll recover in a few short weeks, but honestly, as has been said, we're 0-8 and we're trying to develop these young blokes for the future - this is going to be a great test for them.

just wondering, how do u guys rate your chances against us? i was worried about it with richo but now im quietly confident.. u guys did pretty well this week but then so did we, is it going to be another dreamtime cracker or a blowout?

From todays Herald Sun:

"Richardson has missed 20 games in five years, and encouragingly the Tigers have won nine of them."

Not sure exactly why a 45% win ratio is encouraging, but it is slightly better than our overall win-loss ratio over that period.

Not 100% sure about this but I think I remember reading on puntroadend last year that since Richo started playing, our win/loss record without him is slightly better than it is with him - both below 50% of course.

Last time Richo played Ess he mauled us, so it is a big bonus for us that he is not playing.

Last time it was also Polo who made his debut and picked up the 3 votes. Both he and Richo will be out.

BUT Jack will be in:D:thumbsu: Watch out for his first up effort.
Either way it will be a cracker of a game... Carnt wait

I think it was '95 when Richmond made the Preliminary Final, after Richo did his knee at the SCG and missed the whole season.

And from memory, that year with Frawley where the Tigers made the Preliminary again, Richo missed large chunks of that season too.

biggest worry is who is gonna be second ruck. whats the bet patto goes down injured in the opening minutes and we have a ruck tandem of polak and tuck. should have kept gaspar on and played him as a ruckman lol.

Yes, but that 'last time' was when Sheedy was not interested in winning (and why would he be with draft picks at stake?) and consequently played Kepler Bradley on Richo all night. Didn't make it half-obvious did he? Will be a far different story this time around.
We must play a bigger bodied player in the goal square to take Michael out of the equation. Schulz stays in for mine. I'd be very tempted to play Kingsley in a pocket, just to keep another defender accountable. Let Riwewoldt roam around the flanks and I'd even 'load up' by bring in Hughes to play CHF. That way it will at least make Fletcher semi-accountable as with no Richo, he will no doubt be freed up to play the attacking loose-man defender.
