I chose Torney, because I think he has shown enough to suggest he has courage (D9 collision springs to mind) and a cool head under pressure.

In fact, he looks like hes been an integral part of our backline for years the way he has presented himself so far this year.

I think he also played 22 games last year which doesnt mean a real lot in itself but its another Ben Hart attribute that fits him well.

Hart Torney John**** = Coolheads under pressure x 3.

Good post TJ. I voted Torney as well, just looking at the long term, for all the reasons you stated. Plus the fact that his presence releases Edwards into the mid-field.

I voted for Carey, maybe Torney for the longer term but i've got no doubt after the wok final that Carey will have a major impact on the Crows aspirations this year, i don't mean to sound like an old record but those 2 goals he kicked & the arrogance he showed convinced me we made the right decision in going flat out to recruit him,

My only problem Noddy was that I couldn't vote for both!!!:)

Have to admit, those 2 goals that Carey got made the adrenalin rush!!!

Wait until the 18 months of rust wears off, it'll get even better!!:)

I voted as well even though im a bulldog supporter.I voted for carey. It was out of him or torney but i think carey will have the most impact this year. ;)

I'm with you Noddy. Even though Torney may be more value to the side for the long term, we would have lost badly on the trade deal if Carey doesn't make the biggest impact of our recruits in 2003. I'm confident he will kick 50+ goals. Burns still could turn out to be our best value for money recruit given that I expect he will have a useful season for the Crows & we didn't give up much for him.

Its obviously between Torney and Carey. And it really comes down to Carey's fitness, if he plays most games at somewhere close to 100% fitness, then it will easily be him. Otherwise, Torney looks like he'll be a consistent contributor.

I don't expect Burns to have much of an impact at his second AFL club. In fact, James Begley (why isn't he in this poll?) might do more. Although I don't think either will play many matches this year.

From an outsiders perspective, I feel Torney will be a very, very hand acquisition to the Crows. I always liked his style at the Tiges and I feel he fits in quite well over in South Oz.

I din't put Begley on because I was thinking more about the guys that we had to give up something to get them and whether or not they will justify our decision to trade them on our list. We drafted Belgey thats why I didn't include him.

Cheers
