What is everyone thoughts on Recycled Water?? Do you think its good that we are doing it?? Or no Thanks for me..

Well me I think its a great Idea, A good way fixing our water shortages, with out trying to get water from other planes

They recycled (and drank) urine on Sleek Geeks last week. It seemed to be a pretty simple process.

NOO WAYY! Im not drinking that. Maybe if it was clean, maybe a slight chance.

I hate Melbourne people. Being a country kid I know how important water is and that we need to save no matter what it takes. Recycled water is clean, there is nothing wrong with it.

While you're at it, half your showers, only wash clothes when it's a big wash, and don't keep refilling pools and fish tanks.

It's a great idea and i can't believe we didn't do this 30 years ago. They use recycled water in london which made me feel a bit sick if i drunk it however was fine when i filtered it.

Recycled water does not taste as good but it's ridiculous flushing our toilets with pure fresh drinking water when we're having a serious drought.

I'm not sure about it, can they really prevent ALL diseases from still being present in the water AFTER it has been recycled ?

What about incurable diseases ?

I certainly wouldn't want to contemplate drinking recycled water.
They'd be better off with the desalination option.

which is just another form of recycled water

Intellectually, I know the recycled stuff os cleaner than what most places get bow. Apparently, its fit for kidney dialisys; and apparently that requires a higher standard than drinking water does.
But I wonder if even knowing that, something wouldn't kick in with the "yuck" factor. The immediacy of it does have an influenc on thought patterns, even though there's no logic to it.

Its strange that some of the poorer countries in the world can have the infrastructure to have 2 water pipelines to every house yet our politicians say it cant be done. I live right near one of the Melbourne Water dams and about 15 years ago an amatuer pilot and some p*ssed mates crashed their plane into the dam, at least one of them died in the wreck. Bottom line is the water we drink now isnt as clean as some people would think.

I don't have a problem with it, but unfortunately there's a stigma attached to it.

I know some of the new developments use recycled water, but they have one tap for normal water and a pink tap that the recycled water comes out that you can use to wash and water the garden with.

I think that model is what we should move towards, in addition to the compulsory instalment of water tanks in all homes.
