I imagine the only main costs would be the reinstallation of one drop-in pitch, the others would be pretty minor with staff to work a couple of bars plus a couple of stewards/security. Imagine maybe a little contribution from the SA government but Cricket Australia & the SACA/SMA should be footing most of it given its their competition/event.
Put the wicket i . Replace the damaged turf caused by the heavy equipment.
Then do the reverse to get the ground ready for AFL match in a few days.

I hope none of that loose turf results in an AC injury. The curators do a magnificent job, but the timeline is tight.
CA needs to look at itself with scheduling to ensure overlaps of seasons are kept to a minimum.
I was at AO for an event last year when the pitch was being replaced. It was a big job.

Why don’t they just swap the Round 3 and Round 24 games?

Marvel Stadium is not being used on Sunday 30th March.

The R24 games haven’t been allocated yet and even if Port and Crows play in Adelaide, one can be a Sunday and the other Saturday.

How hard can it be?
That could happen, but would we really agree to three consecutive interstate games?

' You will have 3 consecutive away games and like it ! '

Previous seasons have seen that occur
Were they three consecutive three interstate trips? When three in a row has happened in the past, it's either had a bye in the middle or a Showdown as one of the "away" games.

You can't do that.
Too many people have purchased their tickets and made plans.

What is so hard about preparing a dead set road for the shield final at KRO

The rules for the Shield final has changed in the last 5 or so years. In the case of a draw the team with the most first innings bonus points wins the shield.

You'd be the only person in SA that would know this. What even is a first innings bonus point?

Tricky spot for the club. Should be telling the SACA to **** off, no one gives a shit, you've got Karen.

Doesn't really fit in with our 'Made From SA' messaging though.

Don’t know about that, some people do follow the Shield believe it or not.

0.1 for a wicket and 0.01 for every run above 200 in the first 100 overs.

So basically, knock them over for 199, be 9-201 at the end of 100 overs and then just see the rest of the game out
Wouldnt it be most 1st innings bonus points through the year?

No

For just the third time since the Shield final was introduced 39 years ago, first-innings bonus points will determine who wins if the decider ends in a stalemate after five days.

But for the 2018-19 season, the bonus points system that is used during the regular season was added to the final to avoid the home team preparing a flat pitch to achieve a draw and capture the title.

For example: Victoria win the toss and bat and are 5-320 after 100 overs, meaning they receive 1.2 points and Western Australia 0.5 points. Then in reply, if WA are bowled out for 290 in 90 overs, they would earn 0.9 points, and Victoria 1.0 points for taking 10 wickets.

Add them together and Victoria would have 2.2 bonus points and WA 1.4, meaning the Vics would take the title if the match ends in a draw.

For the bonus points system to come into play, the match must last at least 270 overs. If the bonus points are equal after two innings and the match is a draw, the team that finished in first place takes home the Shield.

It should move to Adelaide Oval if the SACA can agree if the Crows women make a home GF they also have rights to the Adelaide oval.

I personally don't think they would if the shoe was on the other foot.

IMHO a shield final at AO is nice but the cost must be massive and impacts the Crows. Would PA be in favour of it if it impacted them,
I doubt any crowd they get will not justify the cost. We should doctor KRO so we can bat for 5 days.

I dont think we are in favour of it, but its the right thing to do.

Imagine the issues you'd have getting people into KRO if its late on D5 and we need to hang on ala 1996

I never realized the crowd size that day. 30 years ago, though. Is there that amount of interest still? maybe.
