WA only 20 behind QLD now with 8 wickets in hand

SA have a serious claim for an innings victory. whens the last time we did that?

So to make the final

SA need to win
Qld need to not win

and either
VIC win
or VIC lose whilst not making 401 runs in the first 100 overs of their first batting innings (currently 2/4)

Going on the first 2 as happening (can't see Qld winning at all now) I think the rest happens

If Vic win: they host us
If NSW win: they host us

If they draw, then:
If Vic make 301 in first 100, they host (I assume would be higher on ladder if points were the same, due to 2 draws)

If Vic make under 301, we host.

Go NSW at keeping them at a low score (to compare, NSW made 294 in their 100, so 301 is reachable)

So,

SA win
QLD lose (currently 147 all out, WA 2/123 in reply)
VIC / NSW any result so long as VIC don't make 401 in their first innings (currently 2/5)

Actually looks good odds at the moment.

A long time.

There's been 3 games in the last 10 years where we made under 40 runs in our 2nd innings to win (by 9 wickets). So they are the closest I've found in that timeframe.

Looking good in our game, just need WA to push on now and post a big lead. Also Vic catching NSW's 1st innings total would be handy

if both QLD and Vic/NSW draw we miss out right? we need outrights to get a final spot?
A Qld draw is fine given the didn't get batting bonus points but it would be tight. A VIC draw actually gives them a point so all they would need to do is get 303 runs apparently in the first 100 overs of this innings to host the final against SA. Doesn't look like WA will have a significant lead over QLD 5 / 174 atm.
