Actually undecided at this stage Stiffy. I'll need some time to think about it. However, it would be between Burns, Burton, Mattner & Doughty. On form Burns & Burton would be the 2 to go, but I will need to consider team balance. We must play Reilly now.

I doubt that the match commitee will drop Burton even though he has done nothing worth mentioning. Either play Burns our of the pocket or drop him.

...very impressed with young Brett's poise when he has the ball seems like most of the time he has all the time in the world to dispose of it,

plus now we can add courage to the list after last nights hit from Tarrent,

The first thing is what separates the special players from the rest - they appear to have all the time in the world. Young Reilly is one of these. He couldn't possibly miss the game against Freo after his performance last night.

Doughty didn't get a lot of game time but he did get plenty of the ball when he came on and used it well

Burns and Bickley look the 2 most likely to miss at this stage if it's purely based on form.

I can guaratee you that Bicks will play in rd1 barring injury. IMHO its between Burns, Mattner and Doughty.

Bicks hasn't played a lot of footy yet Stiffy.

But - assuming your right, I would then think Burns and Mattner will be the two to miss.

It's gonna be a tough call on somebody though, because we can't fit them all in.

There's some talk of running Bicks in the SANFL this week so he can get some more match time.

Here's another for consideration. How cemented in the 22 is Torney? My gut feeling is he's on the fringe and could also be left out.

I reckon Torney would be pretty solidly in the 22. He's come up with some real moments of desperate brilliance over the WW (his spoil from Nick Stevens and some great work in the clinches last week in the 4th Q to name but 2).

For mine, Burns and Doughty out, on the proviso that Bicks has a good hit out for the Panthers this week.

And we seriously need a good nickname for James Gallagher to stop the David Gallagher "ooh - are they headlights? I'm a rabbit!" flashbacks.

Fair enough. I'd agree he's come up with some great moments but also a few backline clangers that have cost goals.

As a Richmond friend of mine points out, he looks adequate in a good team but it's when your team plays badly that his failings stand out.

I've found him to be better than I expected, but doesn't light me on fire.

Said it before and I'll say it again. Burns is NOT a midfielder. Play him in the pocket or drop him. There's no 6 man benches in the real stuff.

Doughty would be stiff to be dropped, but I think Reilly would be stiffer.

Burton could be a surprise drop. He's getting the ball but his usage gets worse every week. The trouble with dropping Burton is you just don't know when he'll turn it on and win a game single handedly.

I must admit - apart from the free against him on Saturday night that cost a 9-pointer, I haven't been aware of the clangers. His kicking is ordinary, and I don't really want to see him streaming out of defence, but we've got plenty who fill that role to perfection. At Richmond, he had Kellaway's and Gaspar to link up with; at Adelaide, it's Hart, John**** and Bassett.

As a hard nut back pocket, I think he's going well.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - trading for Burns was a mistake.

Doughty would be stiff to be dropped, but I think Reilly would be stiffer.

Doughty's done nothing wrong, but some of the guys who he was probably ahead of at this time last year - Ladhams, Bode, Reilly, and maybe Mattner - have improved more quickly than he has. I wouldn't feel bad about him being in the XXII for round 1 by any means.

A spot has to be found for Reilly, like a spot had to be found for John.**** in Round 1 last year. He's the real deal.

Burton could be a surprise drop. He's getting the ball but his usage gets worse every week. The trouble with dropping Burton is you just don't know when he'll turn it on and win a game single handedly.

The good Burton or the bad Burton....

As Kane McG (I think) said a week ago, I doubt there's been a Crows player who leaves his brain in neutral more than Burton in the clubs history. I doubt the selectors would leave him out of the side as the leading goalkicker and mark taker from 2002, but a couple of weeks back in the SANFL to cut out the lairising might just focus the mind a bit. And he marks like a "tall" and isn't a great crumber, so with a Stevens/Perrie/Carey forward line, Burton may be squeezed out.

The thing with Burton is he can play a running role and a forward role. Not many players are this versatile. There will be games in which the three talls will be cut out. Having Burton available to leap into the action would be a luxury. This may be enough to keep him on the bench at least.

Torney won't be dropped. His form overall has been good and he is as tough as nails. I think he adds something to the backline. Besides his presence in the backline is the reason that we have had the luxury of moving Edwards into the mid-field!!

Burton won't get dropped either because of his ball-getting ability and versatility - although he definitely does the dumbest things imaginable at times.

It has to come down to 2 of Burns, Bickley Doughty or Mattner IMO. I'd hate to be a selector.

People having a go at Torney's kicking must be watching a different game than I am

He has been great and his disposal is spot on.

No way will he miss out on a strating spot.

Thinking about it - I reckon it has to be Burns and Mattner

Mattner only ahead of Doughty because against Freo at home we should be attacking and Doughty is a much more attacking player.

Bickley will stay in as a favourite son if he plays ok for South this week.

Burns has been ordinary - send him to the Maggies to get some form.

How come his fan club arent allowed to answer???? we arent biased...if anything we would probably be more true on what we think of him. u should be proud of him (u do know him , right , i hope so cos id look like a fool if u dont!)
i hope u dont think that we would just keep saying how hot he is...thats not what u asked and it isnt relevant. We just think he rocks AND he is gonna be a very good player :)
Hope he does really well this year:)
