Reilly: Ankle Strain. Up to three weeks out

Edit: Just heard on the radio that he's got an ankle strain. Obviously the other radio station misreported it or my mum misheard, whatever. The important thing is it's not quite as severe as we've been led to believe, which is a positive.

Surely not. He came back on after the injury, I'd say thats impossible with a broken ankle.

Lenny Hayes played the last 3 quarters of a game with a ruptured ACL last year.

Depending on the severity of the fracture it's feasible he could've come back on thinking it was one he could run it off (ie, minor sprain/knock).

Then after the event they've discovered the ankle has a crack/chip in it.

I've broken my Ankle before and there's no way you could walk on it!! ligerments perhaps?

I tore the ligaments in my ankle about 7 weeks ago. I still have trouble doing a lot of things. No way you can walk on it after it's been done, unless it's a very slight strain.

I broke an ankle playing footy a few years ago now. No way you could come back on IMO with a fracture. Pretty tough effort to come back on if indeed it was fractured.

God I hope so. Can not take any more serious injuries!!:(

Yeah. I hope for the sake of your club it isn't ligament damage, because the recovery can sometimes take much longer than a fracture/break. I've been off work for 7 weeks and can't go back for a while, it's a real pain.

One of my mates ran around with a broken ankle for bout 2 mins before the pain was too much. Apparantly it depends on where abouts you break the ankle or some rubbish like that. Bad blow for you cos he was really coming along this season

Most likely a tiny fracture if that's the case. They can heal within 4 weeks which isn't too bad.

That's what I'm thinking if true.

He obviously hasn't broken it in the genuine sense, if it is the bone it'll be a minor fracture at worst.

It is possible to continue with a broken ankle.

I broke mine a few years ago and didnt do anything about it, I helped my brother move house the next weekend.

It hurt like hell when I did it but was more numb afterwards.

I only went to get it checked a week later because my wife was nagging me
and I came out in a cast and crutches.

all I can guess is that maybe it was acting on my nerves to send pain.
either that or no brain no pain :-)

Trauma will actually serve to reduce pain in the body in times of severe injury. Small fractures can sometimes go unnoticed.

Fingers crossed it's not too bad!!

otherwise The Crows are in some serious trouble.....not that they aren't already but I'm hoping It can't get any worse.....can it?

We've been saying this since about round 16 last season.

Up to a month is a decent result?

I guess thats what we've been reduced to :(

The 'Tiser' reported Reilly was having scans on a 'badly sprained' ankle.

terrible news for adelaide and even worse news for my dreamteam

Looks set to only miss one or two, which is a lot better than it could've been. He's been great so far this year, we need him back ASAP.
