Reiwoldt out grrr

jack should have been dropped 2 weeks ago. hes an undersized 20 yr old who has struggled who has needed to go to coburg for a couple of weeks to find touch and confidence then straight back in.
if as a club we had just a small idea jack would not be asked to hold down a key position at theis stage of his career. yet the club regularly leaves him as the sole undersized TALL forward and expects him to do well and unfortunately so do the supporters.

hes been poorly used and is being asked to perform tasks he is not physically ready to perform.
anyway a stint at coburg will do him no harm.the problem is who do you bring in to replace him. schulz now that is laughable pattison even funnier polak sheesh. there is noone else list management and the clubs inability to draft kpps its inability to assess players properly has never been more eveident.

for what it is worth i believe jack post and simmonds just for now should be the go in two weeks time anyway jack needs a break.

he may not be big but he aint small either as in David Bourke undersized, simply aint getting enough of the pill...has work to do

The last fortnight he has been deplorable ...

Non existant last week ... i don`t know what people expect , is it healthy to just keep giving a bloke a game even though he has done f... all to earn it ?

We can`t kick goals .. we have no forward line ... ummmmm .I do believe Jack has been standing down there all year ?

Let him go back to Coburg and see if he can remember what he has to do to make it at the highest level .

Does not work hard enough and has to turn that around sooner rather than later

Strongly agree.

he needed a spell to remind him that he has to work hard and tackle all the time and not be so selective.

has a long way to go and it would be good to see him eat a bit more...

Dont mean to be rude, but Reiwoldt is not a CHF and he still has a lot to learn at AFL level.

Last week, the one thing I noticed, was his inability to use the space afforded to him by Wallace.

It was a tale of two ends, Brown and Bradshaw demonstrated that you dont neccesarily need to lead at the ball carrier on every occasion, there is space to the back, side and diagonal of each contest.

Often we saw Brown double back and run toward the goal reading the play better than his opponent and ending up with a mark inside fifty.

Reiwoldt ran straight at the ball carrier on every lead, and unless the kick is spot on it's very hard to take a grab and have an influence.

He'll refine his skills back in the two's and come back a better player.

He's a HFF.

When you say he's a HFF do you mean now or forever.

Forever.

You want a CHF who can distribute the ball and crash a few packs, they need to be able to get separation consistently to be of any value.

I dont think Reiwoldt has the pace by foot, or plays on quickly enough. He tends to hold up play too often.

He's still a good young player, but I doubt he'll ever be able to beat the oppositions best backman, a third tall he could munch up, infortunately for the tigs that depth isnt there yet.

Matty Lloyd made an interesting comment as special comments man last week. Said that Reiwoldt was always leading forward and ended up running into traffic. He said he had to learn to double back towards goals and into space. The kid could do worse than listen to someone like Lloyd on how to play as a forward.

It is disappointing to have Reiwoldt, Hughes, Thursty and Patto all out. We do still have some firepower though. Brown and Pettifer coming in can both kick goals. And Simmonds and big Angus have both found the big sticks in the last couple of weeks. Hopefully Nahas will eventually find kick some goals- so far he's been the Jake King of the forward line, all effort but not much reward. I reckon we'll have the rucks changing at FF and Lids playing as a key forward this week.

Don't know what happens if one of our big blokes gets injured though, because we have midget back and forward lines Hope Tucky has been practising his ruckwork.

What will happen is, after we get flogged at Terry's press conference, like last week he will say:

"When (*insert injured player*) went down, it sort of upset our structure & we had to put Nahas to CHB & Cotch into the ruck.
This meant we had to get our noses infront and hold the ball for the last 2 1/2 quarters to try to steal the win.
I asked the guys how they wanted to approach it and to their credit, they all said they had some important shopping to do in Rundel Mall tomorrow morning and did not want to be too tired so they did not want to play a hard running type of game.
So we tried to hold onto the footy and show respect to the footy but unfortunately, as is the nature of this game, Port got onto a bit of a roll and kicked the next 23 goals.
You have to admire our guys though for having a decent dip!"

Re Reiwoldt playing at Coburg today... I don't have a problem with anyone getting dropped if they are out of form but the squand we have selected honestly makes me shit scared about the style of game we are going to try to play.

WE PLAY OUR BEST FOOTY WHEN WE HAVE A TALL SPINE AND PLAY THE CORRIDOR...

Just continues to show that Terry has no idea of building for the future.
So Bowden, Simmons Brown & Petrified will all play forward in front of Jack but they wont be there next year but Jack will?
I know that he played a bad game last year but surely Wallet has to take some responsibility for that. They dropped Morton there was no Brown and Richo was out injured, what did we expect him to do? All lions had to do is drop into Jacks space and he was screwed. We are playing a small forward line as this is what Terry loves just like he did at the dogs.
Jack should not of been dropped, he could of been used down back and taken Rance spot as our 3rd tall as Thursty has not come in. We need to try these things.
So lets look at the development from National Draft:
We have not one player playing from last years draft.
We only have cotchin from the previous years.
Collins only player from 2006 draft
No player from the 2005 draft
Lids tambling Polo & Maguane
from the above players only Lids and Tambling have played 50 games.
Guys we are flying! We are in great shape. Thank you so much Mr Spin doctor, Mr Miller and our recruiting staff.
Its time for this joke of a coach to disappear and appoint the a coach that is on the same page as the current board and that is to rebuild this club properley and consistently play the kids. Sure they are going to have quiet games but in the long run we will be all better of.
I still cant believe that we are playing Pettifer the JOKE.
The last thing is we need is petrified to kick goals and his retain his spot on the list.

i dont want us to lose but i dont like this team. hopefully some late changes that will suit us better.

I want to win tomorrow, it'd be cool.

He hasn't been great and probably needs a spell but we haven't brought in a replacement. :o

IMO, Riewoldt is the type of guy, who will go back and kick a bag for Coburg. Our structure's don't help him and he either doesn't listen to the forward coach or the forward coach has no idea.

I still believe once he bulks up he will be a CHF, when he was playing with confidence he was playing on quickly.

What about actually giving Jayden Post a go in the side, I mean we should be trying to play kids in the side and Jayden Post was picked up as a Key Position player, and we need a KPP. I have heard that he is actually plying for the coburg 2's at CHB. Wat the hell is he playing in the backiline for the 2's. Lets put him up to the AFL and give him a taste of wat it takes to play at that level. And play him at FF.!!!!

i think most of us want him to play FF as there is a massive whole, and we are covered fo tall backs. it is proberly the famous learn to be a forward by playing on a forward.

JR will be a key forward. I've got no doubt about that. But he still has a fair bit of growing until his body matches the type of game he plays. But I agree with santa claws that he has had the forward set-up resting on his shoulders a bit too much. I've got no problem giving the young kids responsibility, but you also need to give them a break when they are struggling. I like santa's idea of Simmonds, JR and Putt in the forward line (even though I haven't seen Putt play). Its a nice mixture of experience, youth and a guy who has had a bit of a taste now.

I dont think we are as far away as every thinks from winning games consistently. Our midfield is winning the ball pretty regularly and our backline is coming together again, though I'd like to see Thursty back at full back. But we have had no forward structure all year and last week we had a bunch of kids who didn't really know how to work toegether. This upsets play up the ground because players aren't seeing any options (although it goes a bit each way if the forward movement isn't quick enough).

The forward line looked best last week when Simmonds was up front. I've been saying for a few years now that Schulz isn't a forward - the games were he has looked ok have been in the backline but he gets lost up front and he runs to wrong spots upsetting the whole set-up.

Yeah but do we want him to learn to be a forward by playing on a forward in the three's???? Dont think he would learn too much...:thumbsd::thumbsd:
