Second loudest crowd I have ever seen live, biggest was Didak kicking those two goals in the QF also against Brisbane the following year. The Telstra Dome game was unbelievable, the J-Cloke took that mark in the last second people just went nuts.

I was shaking that much that when I stood up after the siren I almost fell down to the 2nd tier. Jason Cloke the savior...and the game where it was RUPE RUPE RUPE who kept us in it.

I rekon after the game was better, the players went into the change rooms to sing the song and they showed it on the scoreboard, and all 50 thousand people sang it with them. Special moment :thumbsu:

Yeah, that was the best game I've ever been to.

Great play by both teams for four quarters, and an incredibly close result.

McGough was actually getting ahead of the probably-concussed Michael Voss for a while, until he broke his leg; Jonathan Brown and Jason Cloke were having a hell of a duel; Tarrant was running Craig Bolton off his legs - It was all just brilliant.

Amazing that McGough and Jason Cloke were actually keeping pace with superstar players, and now Tarrant and Bolton both play for different teams, and Bolton is agreed by pretty much everyone to be a better player than Tarrant.

That was a fantastic game, close, great accurate goal kicking, and one of my favourite marks of all time when Tarrant was held but kicked the ball up to himself anyway.

I'm so glad I was there.

I got it in a triple pack along with the QF against Port and the PM against Adelaide for Christmas that year, must say I did love it. Even Scott Cummings managed to kick us a goal that game :D

And that's what's gone wrong with our club....

Did we win the flag in 02? No.
Yet we're "celebrating" three wins, that were 'important' for different reasons, however in the scheme of things for that year (ie. WINNING A FLAG) meant nothing.

Yes, that was a great game, and it's great to reminisce, but we need to look forward, and put our efforts into getting a flag in the next three years!

CARN PIES! :thumbsu:

I was there. I seem to remember a cold wind hissing in from the northern end: I had a cold after that from the chills and all the screaming I was doing. Leppa nearly tore us up with his run out of defence in the last quarter. It was a brave win.

Loved that day and all it stood for. Still have the ticket, and so, so many memories stuck in the mind.

Rupe was so brave, and I'll never get over his delistment.

Ticket and Herald Sun scoreboard is on my wall, which does show how much we all care about the game. Disappointing to beat them when it didn't count though

Though it's not all bad the 2002 Grand Final, 2003 was very disappointing and we didn't even look like we wanted to be there that day.

Apart from the good hit by Scotty Burns there weren't many other highlights that day.

But I do agree with you, it's a shame we showed our best then and not then and the final moments of the grand final
