I use a company laptop and I have to give it back for servicing next week. There was an agreement that I only use the laptop for work related stuff. However, I have used it for miscellaneous things such as Big Footy, Youtube, E-Banking etc. I know that deleting internet history does not remove all traces. Is there any way that I can remove all these traces?

Yes, on the internet page up the top go to tools, then there should be a menu saying internet options click that then it will open up a menu then go down to clear history and bob's your uncle.

Sorrry didnt read your query properly i have no idea how to get rid of the traces

I do this for my school laptop, havent had any problems for 5 years :D

Internet Options>
Delete Cookies
Delete Files (click all offline content)
Clear History

I do all that twice and its all fine for me

Alternitavely you can go

Documents and Settings>Your User Folder>Local Settings>Temporary Internet Folders
then delete all the crap in there

But they shouldnt care too much if its just looking at YouTube and stuff. Work crack it if you Install Programs, Download potentially harmfull files onto the computer or used Pirated Software, hope that helps

Download and use CCleaner.

Good program, will erase traces of all sorts of crap for you

+1 for ccleaner

simply erasing history, cookies and temporary files via internet explorer (or other browser) does not remove every trace and can easily be recovered.

Do not ever download any sort of program like that. Anti-spyware, privacy, things like that over the net are the most dangerous. Here's the facts, if your boss really wants to know where people have been going, they will log all your HTTP requests and their isn't anything you can do about it. As for things on your computer: The stuff that you can erase (history, cache, cookies) are all perfectly safe things to have on your machine. The things you can't erase like spyware are the threatening ones. Just be responsible with where you visit, and never download files you don't trust!
