what is with clarko sending Renouf down back? ayed int he ruck and up forward in his jr footy at southport, and does not knwo what to do in defence. Roughead on the other hand spent most of his jr's, including TAC cup and state playing at CHB, yet clarko wants him to be a forward. Time for clarko o pull his finger out and acknowledge that Roughy can hold down FB/CHb, and that Renouf and Hodge are more suited to other positions.

Also, Dawson kept fev quiet, great to see, and the goals fev got came from frees not involving dawson at all im fairly sure

Im pretty sure that Renouf played a fair bit of footy at CHB for Southport and not up forward. While Roughead actuall played as a forward in the TAC cup.

Renouf was drafted as a ruckman/key position player.

It'd be great if he is versatile enough that he may eventually be able to hold down CHB.

Sure give him some time to develop into a ruck, but ruckman don't normally develop into top line players until mid 20s so its way to early to expect him to be thrown into a ruck position, or suggest that AC is doing anything wrong by playing him in the bacline.

Anyhow, I never thought he looked out of place in defence.

I think Renouf looks out of place once he has the ball, he looks rushed and pressured. But that is expected from a young player, he looked good in the past 2 games down in defence and must have been told to always spoil in the contests. Eventaully with more experience Renouf will begin to out mark his opponents.

Its his 2nd game and were already saying his not a defender? Well Little hasnt shown much just yet....maybe his not a forward? Come on its NAB cup place to experiment. His got good pace for a big man and we lack the big bodies in defence and there is nothing wrong with experimenting.

Renouf has shown some talent during the NAB cup campaign - good to see! Why wouldn't Clarko try him out as a defender - isn't that what paccy matches are all about? I would rather see the coach test players in non-preferred positions in the pre-season comp instead of Rounds 1-5 of the season proper.

Exactly - how can we have a look at Renouf, without doing it in a practice match - viz, the NAB Cup.

It has been said many times that it takes a player 10 - 25 games to start to get the tempo of senior footy and at least 50 to start to be comfortable enough to be making a regular impact on games. Renouf has 2 games under his belt. Nuff said

roughead won the goalkicking in his final year of TAC cup - a truly remarkable effort for a young man who supposedly spent most of his time at CHB.
but what's that? in the QAFL grand final last year... who was that at CHB? oh hello mister renouf! so good to have you with us!

with our 2 most experienced rucks in the 22, but our CHB on the sidelines, renouf would have got about 15 minutes of gametime if clarkson had decided that he would refuse to play him anywhere but ruck. regardless of where he ends up playing, giving him some time minding josh kennedy is great for his development, and a darn sight better than having him sitting on the bench.

i think roughead was the second highest in the league - it was a number around 50, in a short season.

I agree that Zac did ok against Fev, though the 2 goals that Fev kicked as a result of free kicks where payed against Zac.
