If the TAC do decide to part ways with the Tigers, how long would it take to find a replacement. Not knowing a lot about that side of business, wouldn't Stevie have enough contacts ready to put the cash in? Would one of the other sponsors, Coke, Connex, and dear I say CUB (I can see the BF threads now) up the ante and become a Major sponsor within a couple of days? Taking into account of course we were reported as having the lowest market value of any club in the AFL.

Now just on the TAC, my thoughts are the relationship is pretty tenuous at the minute, so I think we may be better off sourcing another Major sponsor anyway. The restrictions are pretty tight.

The board said they were the right mob to run the club at the elections, so time to put up and show their worth by bringing in a replacement sponsor.

I want to see if they're there to get something out of the club, or if they're there to contribute something to the club.

Bringing in a new sponsor is the best way to show they're the right ppl with the right contacts to keep the club strong.

Actualy good call oxx, I've John Illam (sp) a couple of times, and he is as passionate a Richmond supporter as all of us. Maybe a blessing in disguise.

At least the players would have a truckload of mobile fones to call cabs when pi$$ed.

If he can put his political views to rest for the good of the club I rekkon we would be better off with CJs as sponsors.

Personally I felt the whole TAC sponsorship was semi dictatorial and did NOTHING to warm the atmosphere of the club.

Fuggem!

Having worked very closely with TAC for a number of years, I'm in a position to comment on the "culture" within TAC. They are a strange bunch to say the least, very difficult and headstrong to deal with, extremely unknowledgable on most things.

There is no excuse for what Jay did, but dealing with a volatile outfit such as TAC will always lead to one forever walking on a knife's edge. There is no doubting that we will miss these funds, however this agreement between the two parties was bound to come to an end before too long.

About time we get a cool sponsor anyway, such as Holden, BMW, Titleist Golf, Penfolds Wine or Tabcorp.

Good on you mate.

How dare anyone accuse the young man of costing us the sponsorship. Shame on you.

He is a RFC player and he gets slagged if he plays bad, not if some corporate cnts make an example of him on some principle.

We pay him to play footy. Not follow the 10 commandments. They can get stuffed.

If the TAC had come back and said sack him or you lose the sponsorship, probably would have cost us exactly the same amount of money.

So support the player & fk the sponsor, who in this case, are fkwits anyway.

They could always go after Al-anon. They could use it as good PR.
