Tomorrow (monday) I will be going into work to hand my resignation in......I have been working with the company for 11 1/2 years.

What are the funniest resignations that you have seen, or written. I feel like being an arseh*le and really stick the wind right up them.........but then again I may require a job there in six months if my new occupation doesn't work out.

What I did once was took 2 weeks holiday and the day before I went on hols I gave 2 weeks notice.

Don't burn your bridges just yet.
Leave on good terms, just in case the proverbial hits the fan at a latter date and you all of a sudden require them as a means of making money.

Keep the roasting for a later time, when everything is all settled.
Make a list of all the things that you dislike and present it to your manager in a calm way......then shake his hand and walk.........whistling as you walk out the door......and into a new and better job hopefully.

I wish I had been given that advice ten years ago to be honest

Where do I start.............I would be there till I was retired and writing a 1 million word essay lol. I don't believe I would find that rewarding at all. When I list the reasons nothing will get done about it.

My advice is to go out on a good note- it is tempting to give you collegues or boss a serve but you might need thier imput if you put them down as a referee for future jobs.

My advice is to keep it short and to the point.

You will need a good reference from these guys,either now or some point in the future.

Are you having an exit interview?

I don't believe in putting things in writing that could potentially be used against you later.

If you say it to a boss at an exit interview it holds less weight when they're thinking about re-employing you.

I always say, never burn your bridges!

My brother worked for a government dept that required the correct 'resignation' form to be filled out in triplicate. He went on a backpacking holiday round the world (as you do when you work for the government) and while in Ireland decided he wanted to quit. He sent an email to his boss telling him he was resigning, got the 'triplicate' form spiel, at which point he directed said boss to the upper right drawer of his desk and there it was all filled out

My brother used to work at this company, and he sent me this rather classic exit letter that a former colleague had written:

Fellow TeleT---ers,

The time has come for me to bid you all a fond farewell, as I have decided to hang up my headset and retire from the wonderful world of internet-related technical support.

After close to two years at Pennant Hills, I have now taken up a position of Team Leader at The Communicom Group; a corporate sales-marketing firm based in Surrey Hills.

Let me get a few negative things off my chest, before I say my thank yous…

To the Management and all involved at TeleT---:

Do you ever wonder why there is such a high staff turnover rate at TeleT---? It is because nearly all of us hate working in this ****ing dump. This place has to be one of the most poorly run working environments. We’re forced to support the most ****ed up products out there, and as a result CSR’s have to battle huge call volumes. Bigpond Internet is a ****ing joke… be it Dial-Up, Cable or ADSL. The service goes down more frequently than a hooker on New Year’s and it is the CSRs who have to cop the abuse from frustrated clients.

Telstra placed so much focus and emphasis on ‘customer satisfaction’ and nothing on employee satisfaction… What TeleT---’s management didn’t realise is that they both go hand in hand. The reason that so many of us don’t give a **** is because we feel we don’t get the same respect from our superiors. Want to reduce the number of sick days, absenteeism and lateness? Start by respecting the CSRs. We are the face of Telstra so to speak, so treat us properly and we’ll do a good job…

Our administration and pay roll departments are both ****ing useless. I had a colossal issue with pay, which by the way was resolved after 2-3 months of bitching and moaning. Apart from myself, many employees have raised similar issues with me… It isn’t rocket science, so get it right. Funny how you never **** up your own pay…

There is a lot of talk that Telstra is not happy with TeleT---, and wishes to lose them as a client. How much of this is true I don’t know? All I know is that at least 10-12 different people have raised this with me, so I guess you all better hang around for a pay out. Start looking for other jobs people… www.seek.com.au (oh wait, TeleTech’s proxy doesn’t want you doing that)

There are so many ****ing rules about what you can and what you can’t say/do on the job. My belief is say what you have to say and do what you have to do to ensure the customer is happy. I’ve filled out sign-up forms for customers, changed account details etc all because I knew they were too ****ing stupid to do it themselves. I’ve sworn at customers all because they extended me the same courtesy. **** them, they don’t give two ****s about you, so why bother.

And computer games? You can’t play them at work because it’s apparently inappropriate… Oh **** off. At least they give some of the employees a little bit of a break whilst on the job. There are no bonuses or incentives for us to work at TeleT---. We don’t get penalty rates for working late or on weekends… We don’t get any bonuses for being cross-skilled. All it means is that the guys who are cross-skilled have to work twice as hard as the others… We are supposed to get bonuses for referring employees, but I have had 4-6 people work here under my referral and I haven’t seen a cent… Guess it’s a another example of our payroll department at its best…

The whole scheme of things is statistics driven. If the managers and superiors took the time to hear their employees out, I’m sure what I have had to say would be echoed many a time.

We’re underpaid and overworked… Queues that reach 60-150 all because Telstra ****ed up hard, gives me all the right to play computer games. So **** you Martin -----. I don’t give a **** if you think I’m dodgy. I am a dodgy, dirty and sly son of a bitch… and I’m outty
