Respect

I would just like to post my congratulations on what was a terrific season for the Cats. Even though we upset you in the final, Geelong have really lifted the standard of football over the last few years and have been a model that I’m sure the Hawks have followed over the past 4-5 years.

Bay 13 aside, I’ve got a lot of respect for the Geelong Football Club, in many ways both Hawthorn and Geelong are very similar clubs and both have come along way from 10-15 years ago when both looked down the barrel of folding.

Hopefully Saturday was the continuation of a great rivalry and the establishment of one of the competitions greatest rivalries

My respect for Hawthorn has risen this year, but i hate them more than ever.

I'm a bit over the "nice" Hawthorn supporters offering their praise on a great year for Geelong, Ablett played well; should be captain, etc - we don't like you. We don't want your commiserations. We are waiting patiently for September next year where it will be payback.

Go easy... As heart breaking as it was, the Hawks deserved their win and it is good to see that there are some supporters who show some respect towards others and don't feel the need to boast. Competition is a good thing.

Yeah , thanks a lot . Nothing like a bloke wanting shake your hand after he's just r*ped and pillaged your season. A lot of respect ? I dont know why. We seem to be your eternal "EasyBeat" side . Even when you were crap , yow would come to KP and beat us. Rivalry? When its reciprical its a rivalry , when its one side winning all the time , its just a shame. Thank you for reminding me what its like to have a faithless following of ones club in GF's. While you can confidently turn out for our next final , most us will be as nervous as the good looking , new arrival at Barwon Prison.

it's easier to pay your respects when you are on the winning team. So while I respect Hawthorn for the way they played (mostly) and took that game, I also hate them and hope we kick their asses from pillar to post next year. They will have to remember that everytime they play us next year they are going to be playing a very angry side.
