Last night we saw for not the first time, a champion of the game on this occasion Robert Harvey receive a standing ovation as his opponents lined the exit to clap him off. The uninitiated probably don't realise that it wasn't until the Tigers sent off Steve Silvagni (FB of the century) in a standing ovation at his 300th that this has now become the norm. Heck, it was too much for the maggots to park their usual vitriol for even a minute as KB was chaired from the ground following his 400th.... The RFC were also the first to introduce signed footys after a win, albeit we've given away less than anyone:o

To cap this strange phenomena, I'm pinning my hopes on the Tiges to be the first club to succeed with their 5 year plan:thumbsu:..here's hoping

would rather set a premiership winning trend than signed footys lol

After watching the Hawks and the Bulldogs I so much want to make finals. Just remember we beat Hawthorn and drew with the Bulldogs and only just lost to St Kilda. Surely our new era starts to begin next year. All we need is for Hughes, Riewoldt, Shultz, Gourdis and Collard to stand up. Go Tiges!!!!

Teams have been lining up and clapping Harvey off for about the last 4 weeks. I can almost bear the Hawks doing it last night because it was his actual last game, but watching the Magpies last week and others in the weeks before do it when he still had games to play made me want to vomit. When good ordinary players like Sziller and Tivendale get send-offs and champion players get a send off that lasts for a month, it has gotten beyond a joke. I don't mind opposition teams going up and giving a handshake or even a little hug, but a line of honour is over the top IMO. Its their last game of footy, not their bloody funeral. :thumbsd:

Terry's Towels, Yep that worked. Having said that, don't the Bulldogs do something like that instead of a football after a win now? Hence "Trendsetters":thumbsu:

On Sat night I watched with a couple of Sainter mates and made exactly the same commenst as you and Crum Iddy. They both looked at me and said " So I suppose you will be pissed off if that happens to Richo then?" Shut me up nicely.

I must be robinson crusoe then coz I reckon there is room in the game to applaud the feats of CHAMPIONS..it's both dignified and respectful and I'd like to think that coursing thru the veins of ea and every one of our cubs is a burning desire to leave the game with the same indellible mark, rather than a fart that simply vanishes in the breeze..
