Not just directed at you Tigerdan, but to all that keep saying you would like to get extra games into a kid that you pick now instead of waiting.

What about all the other kids that we have on our list that we need to get games into including the ones that we draft this year?

Who is going to miss out on getting games for a kid picked in the late 20's instead of waiting a year or two and moving on the ones that don't make it from the last couple of drafts.

Also don't you think the recruiters are looking at more than just kids playing in the TAC cup, they generally will start watching kids at around 13-14 and by 16 will have a comprehensive dossier on them.
this is my thinking too. Hold the pick find out what we need them use it to trade for a player or draft for a need.

The Lions, along with other clubs possessing a compensation pick, can activate those selections in any year between 2011 and 2014, but if they want to use that pick in any of those years they must tell the League prior to the start of that particular season starting.

Richmond, which received Adelaide's Nathan Bock compensation pick in exchange for trading Richard Tambling to the Crows, also appears set to keep that selection for another season.

Agree PHanevski, Particularly the point re getting experience into current group including this yrs recruits. Also keeps the option open in a few years if we have a deficiency we may trde or it can bolster the number of picks under 25. I also think that recruiters may also have an eye on future drafts as others have mentioned.
