Riccardi's boy

Hopefully plays 12 more games for us someday than his old man did. Always felt sorry for Peter missing out on a premiership

Among the new faces are Osca Riccardi, who is eligible to be a father-son selection with Geelong, with dad Peter playing 288 games with the Cats.

“He’s an outside player with plenty of pace, and he makes good decisions on the outside,” Corrigan said.

“What we like about him is that he’s very composed, but he also breaks the lines and takes the game on.

“We felt with those sort of traits, he can help our strength on the inside.

“His pre-season was really impressive, which warrants his selection in the squad.”

No way. Gary Ayres had the best mullet ever seen on a footy field

Dunstall, Brereton and his stupid permed mullet, Peter Curran, Darrin Pritchard, Greg Dear etc. were all in multiple flags in the 80s with awesome mullets
Kernahan another one, with David Rhys-Jones
Greg Anderson had long hair that gets put into mullet consideration. Tony Antrobus had one - he was a dirty player. Looked like he belonged in prison more than a footy field. Paul Salmon rocked a dirty one in 1993

Mil Hanna dislikes this post.

In the 1989 Grand Final there was Darren Flanigan, Bill Brownless, Mark Yeates sort of had one, Shane Hamilton, Tim Darcy, Damian Bourke, Garry Hocking (long hair at least), and David Cameron all with mullets or something resembling...

Gavin Exell and Darren Morgan also had mullets of note that year. Oh, and Gary Cameron

People leaving out Ayers's mullet? I know he's burned us, but even Fabio would be jealous.

Another to keep an eye on is Ted Clohesy who is a potential NGA pick for Geelong although they have tightened up on these selections.
17 Ted Clohesy (Geelong Falcons)

With a no-fuss haircut, the 182cm Geelong Falcons midfielder proved tough and damaging, playing a contested and efficient game through the midfield while also looking dynamic forward of centre, where he would kick two very nice goals. Despite a light frame, Clohesy wasn’t afraid of winning the hard ball and to balance out his contested side, he would use the ball well on the outside and really move it forward well.

I still struggle to understand what influence a haircut has on a player's ability with the ball.

You ever seen early footage of Hanna when he was starting to lose his hair?
Think Kevin Bartlett but then envision patches missing here and there. Had to be the worst look in the games history.

Yeah, in 1988 - there's plenty of footage of it. Alopecia
He probably hoped his hair would return, so left it. I've seen a picture where he had something that resembled an afro when he was a bit younger

He went the full chop for 1989. It was probably liberating for him to finally let go and stop worrying
