Good pick, at this stage. Pick 60 is a massive bargain for Wilson, who was touted as a second, possible first round draft pick by a few people at various points in the year. I would love the Tigers to take him, as I feel he is the exact type of player we are lacking at the moment. Massive bargain at pick 60.

Agreed, and we are likely to have the 60th live pick when teams promote rookies etc with earlyish picks. Speaking of bargains I reckon TFLUA got a bigger bargain with Karpany who is at worst the equal of Wilson IMO.

Karpany is in my top 25

If he was there at our 2nd/3rd pick he'd be an interesting test of whether we will take a small mid and whether we have faith in developing indigenous players.

I know my beliefs and thinking on a few players will differ from the club, if he is there with our second pick, get him in.

Having said that we have taken McDonough and Arnot who aren't exactly towering mids.

Been almost 48 hours, another default pick:

Pick 67: Sydney select:

James Sicily (VIC – Fwd/Mid)
Height: 186cm, Weight: 75kg, DOB: 06/01/1995
Recruited from: Western Jets
Style:
Player comparison:
Range: 25-rookie
Profile: Sicily is a medium marking forward who has proven to be a real threat this year. Sicily is a strong mark on the lead, in the air, and in the contest and just clunks it thanks to his strong hands and superior ability to read the ball in the air. He’s also shown the ability to at times play up the field on the wing and be a linkup player. He just needs to start winning more of his own ball and gain further consistency in his kicking to target as it can be hit and miss.

Calcium Man you're up. :D

Pick 68 - Marlon Pickett

Its extremely left field and would probably be lucky to get a gig on a rookie list but from hearing about his two WAFL games just sounds special. Has amazing pace and athleticism along with good skills and eye for goal. To come in and do what he did in his first two matches of senior footy is special. His reserves form was only solid but nothing wrong with taking a risk here on this type especially with Varcoe on the way out.

Pretty happy with my Geelong draft.

Acres is an amazing talent, shoulders are a worry and doesnt have the runs on the board like some others but could be very special with his kicking ability, good pace, good overhead and ability inside and out. Also at 190cm is in that new breed of tall mids

McStay is a longer term prospect, think geelong would look at making him a CHB and has all the best attributes except the physicality and aggressive side of things. At worst could be a long term replacement for Mackie.

Apeness is an aggressive strong marking KPF/Ruck, two really important attributes to have. Needs a lot of work still but Geelong have great development and have a bit of a need for a big KPF coming through as Kertsen is small and i don't really rate Walker

Picket is a good project player to have and has potential high upside. Geelongs development ability could see this kid be devastating and let the Wells legend continue.

@tradesman can pass. Last pick of the draft finally.

<br />Fraser Fort (VIC – KPD)<br />Height: 196cm, Weight: 84kg, DOB: 04/10/1995<br />Recruited from: Geelong Falcons <br />Style: <br />Player comparison: <br />Range: 30-rookie<br />Profile: Fort is one of the better key defenders in the TAC. He’s more your shutdown defender with some real athleticism with his pace and leap both above average. He has in the past also shown that he can play forward to a solid standard and present as a marking target but in a star studded Geelong Falcons team with McCartin and Goddard who both look like top 5 selections next year both as key forwards there is a pretty good reason why he hasn’t played forward as much this season. I see Fort settling as more of a defender with others more talented as forwards but he’ll need to continue to expand his game.<br />

You can take Fort, however;

Pick 69: Fremantle select

Thomas Shanahan (WA – Mid)
Height: 183cm, Weight: 75kg, DOB: 28/04/1995
Recruited from: East Perth
Style:
Player comparison:
Range: 25-rookie
Profile: Shanahan is someone who has really made a case for selection with some incredibly impressive production. He’s winning his own footy inside the contest but also finding plenty of it outside and linking up well. He’s a strong tackler and plays a solid two way game. He’s got excellent endurance and runs all day. He’s not the most damaging user of the footy and not a freak athlete but he’s still been exceptionally impressive and is deserving of selection.

And with that, the Phantom Draft is complete.

Here is how each club fared:

Adelaide: Knight, Lang.
Brisbane: Salem, Reynolds, Miller, Langdon.
Carlton: Kelly, Jones, Hampson, Sully.
Collingwood: Crouch, Conlon, Tsitas, Pitson.
Essendon: Jansen, Byrne-Jones.
Fremantle: Marsh, Perris, Willsmore, Shanahan.
Geelong: Acres, McStay, Apeness, Pickett.
Gold Coast: Bontempelli, Lennon, Hartung, Impey, Hewett.
GWS: Boyd, Gardiner, Kolodjashnij, Harvey, Nankervis.
Hawthorn: Freeman, Thorp, Honeychurch, Fort.
Melbourne: Aish, Dunstan, Garlett, Glenn.
North Melbourne: McDonald, Spina, Cavarra, Wilson.
Port Adelaide: Dumont, Giles, Lobb, Karpany.
Richmond: Taylor, Cameron, Kennedy-Harris, Herbert.
St. Kilda: Billings, Cripps, Hourigan, Merrett.
Sydney: McCarthy, Robertson, Holman, Sicily.
West Coast: Sheed, Battersby, Sokol, Cutler.
Western Bulldogs: Scharenberg, Templeton, Bourke, Nelson.

TFLUA-Tiger, any chance you can rate each club on their draft? :)

should we do another mock now that the picks are set maybe start it in a week or so

When's list lodgment. I wonder if we can get it done when no. of picks are finalised?

Edit: On Thursday is list lodgment one with rookie promotions and some delistings etc.

Maybe we could start one after long weekend?

Need to be more rules on the picks after the first round. Also i think new poster shouldn't be given teams as a few of them have just disappeared. They lack internal fortitude to remain a long term bigfooty poster!!

Grockadoc or whoever runs the second Phantom, please count me in this time around.

Grockadoc awesome work. Next time around maybe make it 24hrs before the pick is passed in?

It was 24 hours this one. There were just days I was busy, and couldn't get on, of people forgot to tag the next poster so they weren't notified. Next time, if I run it, I'll get someone to help monitor the picks and the time limits etc.

I nominate tigs2010. He has to earn that poster of the year award with some actual input into the board ;)
