I get what the AFL are trying to do by adding the interstate sides but given the fact we struggle to go a month without border restrictions surely this could wait until the appropriate time.

You can’t have VFL listed players with other jobs living under the protocols that the AFL boys will have to in order to travel interstate.

Can just see the season becoming too hard to manage and will lose its legitimacy. Queensland sides will say they need to play stronger sides than they currently do but what’s worse playing average sides or playing no sides because Vic or NSW sides can’t enter the state? Think they would of been better off to keep it as it was for this year.

Based on this article, the team will feature players, playing in some decent country leagues, NAB League players from Murray Bushrangers and Oakleigh Chargers and of course our own AFL listed players. Given we will have a pretty inexperienced AFL listed players along with untried country league and NAB League players I wouldn't be at all surprised if we struggle this season. It makes sense that we have spent less on VFL listed players given the cuts we've had to make.
