Why do certain posters on this board keep persisting with them?
We are 11th - yes, 11th - how can anybody possibly accurately predict what we are going to do next week, let alone for the last 11 games of the season and assume we are going to make finals?
It's fairly embarrassing, not to mention lame. The sooner most of our supporters reliase the position we are in as a club, as one still trying to get back on it's feet and go places, the sooner we can all move forward successfully. Aim high, yes, but I'm sure the players, coaches & staff at EFC aren't thinking finals and premierships at this stage. The more some delude themselves with grand visions of ultimate success in 2009 the further away we get from moving forward.
We'll no doubt win a few more games for the rest of the year but let's all try to maintain a little perspective about where we are going, in the longer term, rather than 2009. The feeling is a lot of people were getting way too ahead of themselves prior to the Geelong game, and the last two weeks have given us the wake-up call the club has needed, in my point of view. A work-in-progress.
