He played a further seven matches and booted eight goals with the Swans before recurring injuries forced him to retire at the end of 1998.

Very sad news to hear. My thoughts go out to his partner and his family at this time.

Very sad news. I remember watching my first live Swans game and he was one player I definitely noticed being a big lad.

This sucks! I played footy with Greenie in the WBFL in 2003-04. His body was never right and that's why he was plodding around in the reserves with me. But he was a gentle giant as Voss said, a funny bloke and always entertaining. My best memory of him will be him taking to the stage with guitar and belting out a few tunes after our seniors lost the Grand Final, I think it was 2003. Just lifted everyone's mood! He'll be missed by his mates, can't believe he's gone out like this. I haven't seen him for years and didn't even know he was on the Coast.

I seem to remember him getting suspended in the pre season comp or practice match possibly even against the Lions. Hell of a first impression.
