Makes me angry how people call someone weak after they have ended their life. They obviously have no idea how bad depression can be and have never had someone close to them go through it.

Just a bunch of ignorant and keyboard warriors on FB. That place is becoming a joke with the amount of shit I see written on there.

Anyways that's my rant. Sorry it just pisses me off.

RIP Chester. Loved Linkin Park when I was growing up.

Playing through all their music right now, cant believe we wont hear him sing songs in the future. A part of me believes its the masses of people hating on him and the band for the latest album. The internet is just dangerous with the amount of influence people can have with it.

Some people act like self entitled twats on the net.
He said in an interview they wanted to make music they enjoyed doing.

This was his last live performance

A great summation of things - not for any of us to ever know how this poor person got to making such a terrible decision.

Two of the greatest ever albums (the first two) as they designed a complete new genre of music.......

You think, that's bad, you should see some of the shit they post about this type of stuff on the Misc.

Yep. I've seen plenty of 'educated people' say he's selfish, a coward, or has pissed his fame away on drugs and alcohol that's caused him to do this. Depression doesn't discriminate, his story is well publicised, and when you suffer depression you don't think clearly; that's what gets you. All you see is this black hole that you want to fall into so you don't have to feel. Chester did what he thought was right by taking his life, he sure as shit wouldn't be thinking 'I'm going to hurt my kids and everyone I love today!'. I know that's the last thing I thought about when I suffered depression. It was quite the opposite, I felt like I would be doing them a favour by taking my own life.

Horribly upsetting stuff, but I hope he's at peace.

am gutted ! Why ?? Such a senseless waste , feel lost his music was for a generation. Gave hope and stability to so many people who struggled in there own lives , a giant for the minority

So sad , fight on linkin park !

Seems like he helped more people with their own depression, or feelings of teenage angst better than most.

Meterora was one of the first albums I bought and I can still vividly remember coming home from school and putting the CD on a Sony Boombox and playing it from start to finish. Was too young to identify with the lyrics but Chester's voice was what drew me to them. RIP.

Met the band at Crown Casino around the time Hybrid Theory was released. They were just walking about so just went and said hello.

Spoke mainly to Chester and Mike, they were nice guys and I loved that album.

RIP Chester.

This was made even sadder by hearing about the girl who posted on their wall 5 days ago that the only thing keeping her from killing herself was their upcoming concert.

The morning the news came through about chester, her wall had a series of RIP messages from her immediate family. Tragic not only to his family, but everyone who had a connection to him or his music.

I grew up listening to Linkin Park, such sad news :( I was recently listening to song:

Good quote:

I hope there is a lesson that can be learned in the deaths of Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington. We need to support our artists to be healthy and loved even when they evolve out of the sadness that inspired our favorite songs. Depending on pain to create is a dangerous road to travel. I can't help but wonder about the sonic and vocal brilliance we will, now, never get from Chester Bennington.
Long live a god of rock.

Has been a weird feeling all weekend. Had a working bee at home so was listening to music all weekend, played through their whole discography. Never has a celeb death leave me "numb" so to say, but even now its hard to listen to their songs. God knows whats wrong with me; maybe i've picked up some of my partner's pregnancy hormones and it's making me sensitive, or maybe im just genuinely coming to grips with the fact that my favourite voice is no more. Facebook has been a terrible place over the last few days, everyone posting their crappy comments and memes to get a few laughs. There's even a hoax running around that he and Cornell were murdered for being about to expose a paedophile ring. Crazy people on the internet

I came across those articles, suggesting that Chris and Chester were murdered. Conspiracy theories etc

Internet is awful place,at times, some of the comments directed at Linkin park's new music were shocking. Chester had a bad childhood, being abused and his lyrics were personal and emotional. It's sad, he was really suffering.

My Facebook has been covered with those pop up shops with shitty Photoshop's of merch 'celebrating' his passing.

The hardest thing is that most people assumed his lyrics were reflective, when they were actually very much about his present thoughts. Heartbreaking. I've watched Linkin Park's performance of One More Light they dedicated to Chris a dozen times already and teared up every time. Just doesn't feel real that Chester is gone.

I don't think there's anything wrong with you.
I was pretty bummed when Prince died. I listened to his music and stayed away from all the shit noise out there. I think music speaks to us more than any other art form.
The Internet and Twitter are foul when something like this happens. Idiots come out in force seeking attention and to be "the first" to say something edgy. It's part of the current media/clickbait phenomena and it's only going to get worse (personally I think we are regressing as a society). Sometimes you just have to deliberately switch off for your own sanity and IRL reconnect with those who are truly important to you.
They do say the partner has pregnancy empathy. My older sister's hubby changed a fair bit with each of her pregnancies.
Don't know if this helps, hope so.

So sad :(
Especially as this kind of thing can come out of nowhere for his loved ones.

Thought this was a nice gesture. Matt would have been 13/14 when Hybrid Theory came out so I can imagine LP had a big influence on him
