Aphrodite, I love that picture above with Richard Pratt outside Princes Park.

What a classic photo. The Carlton emblem on his lapel jacket, the expression on his face... one of the great Carlton photographs. RIP Richard.

Business, arts and sports leaders farewell Richard Pratt

A number of champions from Mr Pratt's beloved Carlton Football Club, including Ron Barassi, Alex Jesaulenko, Percy Jones, Mike Fitzpatrick, Ang Christou, and current players Chris Judd, Brendan Fevola and Nick Stevens attended.

Former Blues' president John Elliott and AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou were also there.
American-born rabbi Levi Wolff led the traditional ceremony by recalling his first meeting with Mr Pratt 11 years ago, not long after the rabbi arrived in Australia.

Rabbi Wolff introduced himself as the "new rabbi in town” to which Mr Pratt replied: "Hi, it's nice to meet you. I'm Rabbi Pratt, I'm a rabbi in Melbourne.”

"I then asked Richard, `where is your congregation?' and he replied `my congregation is the Carlton Blues'," recalled Rabbi Wolff.
Forcing Pratt to resign the Presidency of Carlton which was one of his life's passions was a step too far.

Pathetic to take that away from Pratt when he was fighting a losing battle with prostate cancer.

I won't ever forget journalists like Patrick Smith who drove the campaign to force Pratt out of a club Smith hates with a passion.

Who can forget Smith's bile about Greg Williams?

Smith is a pathetic piece of work.

R.I.P Dick Pratt. A very generous man that proved his love for the Carlton Football Club. I'll never forget the day I found out you became the prez, and then snaring the best for our club including our captain.

When Carlton win flag 17 it will be no doubt dedicated to you Richard. :thumbsu:
