Hearing some sad rumours that we have lost one of our legends of the club today. Haven't heard anything else from media yet so won't be releasing the name. Hoping it's not true but has anyone else heard anything?

If it's the thread that was just nipped in the bud (and fair enough) then that is extremely tragic. I assume we'll all hear in an hour or so anyway.

Confirmed now, Frank Costa talking about him

A child hood hero, never looked like a footballer but was just a bloody good one

RIP

I'm genuinely saddened to hear about the death of Paul Couch. Couchy was absolutely brilliant and that engine room of Couch, Hocking and Bairstow was every bit as important as the Stoneham, Brownless, Ablett forward line. RIP Couchy and thanks for everything :(

really a bit shocked about this one, when I heard word of the rumour I had someone much older in mind - Paul Couch was still so young, just 51 - condolences to his family.

such a great player too, underrated in some respects despite the Brownlow - 3 B&F's speak volumes as to his consistently excellent output.
I'd rate him as one of the finest kicks I've seen at the club, and had a wonderful ability to make space for himself despite a relative lack of pace and athleticism.

very very sad, Vale Couchy.
