I know he is injured atm during the preseason. I have to say I didn't see much there and agree with the blah assessment of the AFL prospectus. Anyone see something I didn't and where to from here?

I haven't read anything about this anywhere else yet (nothing on the other forum either), but blues2010 said that he may have injured himself again on Friday...

... Robert Eddy looked fantastic but unfortunately got injured again, not sure what it was but I saw him throw his water bottle away in disgust and looked very dejected...

I was under the impression that Sam Fisher was our only injury (aside from Jess Smith).

It's a shame for him because as we found out last year, if you can't secure a spot in the team early in the season it can be very difficult to fight your way in.

It is indeed to not very clear who is injured and who isn't...

According to Ross Lyon in the Age today, "the whole side is available except for Sam Fisher".

According to the pre season report in the Age, "a calf-strain put star midfielder Lenny Hayes out of the pre-season grand final and in doubt for round one [... and ...] backline general Sam Fisher badly damaged his ankle and will miss at least the first month of the season proper".

No word on Eddy (maybe it wasn't as bad as blues2010 reported).

But then again, no word on Smith, Clarke, Dempster and Steven either, none of which have played a part in any of the Saints or Sandy practice games recently (Gardiner has played two for Sandy).

EDIT : and no word on Miles (whose injury would be a real shame, I think he would have been very close to his first game while Fisher is out)

yeah sorry guys, might have jumped to the wrong conclusion. Apparently trained ok today and all is well with him. But Miles definitely stress fracture to feet. I will watch what I say until I am 100% sure of the facts. Eddy just looked bad from the boundary but is all ok

I'd prefer you let us know - you did say that you couldn't tell what the problem was.

Rapt that he's OK. Just needs to do some work on his kicking before becoming a very handy AFL player. Has been prominent in every VFL game I've seen him play, but then gets stuck with a different role when he plays with the Saints.

Nah, mate, you played it the right way - you just told us his reaction and took a reasonable assumption. We won't hold you to that.

Better than the smoke and mirrors that is the way things usually end up being "reported" to us about injuries.
