i'm a big wrap for this guy. so big in fact that i would love to see the eagles have a grab at him in the trade period to fill our defense problems.

how do you guys see him fitting in at freo in the years to come? freo have some quality tall defenders that are ahead of him in McPharlin, Parker and Polak. and to that list Hayden and Woods and you have in my opinion one of the best defenses for a few years to come.

Haddrill is an old style "stubborn" backman, he can run and has good abilities over his head, but I would not tag him as an "athletic" backman. He is not pretty in what he does but seems to read the play very well.

It appears to me that the plan (for the future) is move some of the backmen to fill holes in the middlefield or to a key forward position. Players like Woods, Polak, McPharlin and Hayden may move around, players like Parker and Haddrill will stay down back doing the jobs they know best.

In the next season or two, either Polak or McPharlin will move permanently forward. How long has Parker still got in his legs?.

We may trade players, but I can't see any of the ones you have mentioned being put up for offer this season. CC is still consolidating the KPP areas.

It just shows that the team has grown in leaps and bounds, when other teams are lining up to grab our riping fruit. The tree is blossoming with some tasty fruit.

There were times there when we were definitely using the wrong root stock.

Anyway thanks for your comments Noodle.

They wont be mad enough to trade the Wall. Polly and Pharlap are attacking backmen at the moment but in the long run one of the will move forward with Robbie being our long term fullback. He is purple for life.

To put this into perspective at the start of the seaon Anthony Jones owned Haddrills spot on the team on reputation alone. This seaon from Big Rob Hadrill has spelt the end of the career of AJ ....& heres a tip expect an announcement in the next 3 weeks.

I have been saying it for a while now I think we should trade him while his value is high.
Polak and McPharlin are our key backmen with Woods and Grover more than able back ups.
That said I would only trade him for Kerr and I dont mind throwing in draft picks to sweeten the deal.

They would have to throw in the picks Sabre, quality Big men are scarce as flywire doors on submarines.

On the subject, how many years does everyone think Parker has left?

Maybe its just because he is surrounded by such an improved backline, but he doesn't seem to be having the same impact as previous seasons.

That said, I think he's still good for another season, at least.

Well I think he has droped of a little due to injury and of course age but like you said he is no longer the main guy down there.
With a backline as strong as ours he doesnt have to be everywhere at everytime and is probally finding it a little strange.
I still believe he has a good 2 years left in him.

Parks is waiting for the photographers clamering to get the photo of him and Macca lifting the premiership cup up.

He's a player the club has put alot of management time into, all that drink driving, falling down stairs at nightclubs, slagging off team mates, calling his captain a "runty Korea" etc. Oh yeah his media profile is too much to stomach ................

Having said that, he is still a required played (one of the first pick) and has at least another season, maybe two.
